REUNITED! This is the Original ASTON MARTIN ONE-77 Prototype

This isn't just any Aston Martin One-77, this is the original prototype that attended events around the world, and I filmed over a decade ago! I'm with ArtVanDelay in Arizona to take in all the details of this unique car, wrapped in satin chrome, before getting behind the wheel!
It's crazy to think that I first filmed this car in the summer of 2011, almost 12 years ago now, the very One-77 factory prototype that was used for media and activities all around the world and have seen numerous times around the world. However, today I'm with the new owner, James from @artvandelay to find out all about it before heading out for a ride and drive.
There were originally 77 One-77s built for customers, with the most powerful naturally aspirated engine in the world at the time and a glorious soundtrack too from that 7.3l NA V12 built by Cosworth. While a number have been involved in incidents along the way, the majority of the prototypes that were built have gone onto other projects like the Vulcan prototype and one-off Victor, with this car moving on to a VIP Aston Martin customer.
It's now treasured in James' possession, where he has created a full record of the car's history, compiled numerous documents and magazines that show part of its life, and even sourced a set of the shoes that were gifted to media attending events back at the time.
Not only is the car spectacularly beautiful, but the garage itself is part of a stunning architectural project undertaken by James and his wife; whereby you can see the cars from the welcome lounge - it's a wonderful location! A special thanks to James for his time and the opportunity to jump behind the wheel of a car that 12 years ago I looked at longily. I typically don't care for wrapped vehicles, especially with those 'IN YOUR FACE' colors, but the wrap on this car is PERFECT! The wrap shows off the lines of the body so well. Aston should have made this a paint option.

Interesting...Back in 2011 I was doing some contract design work for Aston's within the Body Mech's department at Gaydon and during my time there saw a lot of the 0ne / 77 development prototypes floating around the site....so could well have seen this car up close....reminds me of a chrome regular Aston parked up on a pedestal outside of the main Engineering / factory building ....during my time there ..Good to know they put the Prototypes to good use..

A few years ago I visited my local Bentley workshop, who also happened to be the workshop for Aston Martin. At that time they had not one, not two, but three One-77s in for work. When I asked what was going on, I was told the One-77 (as a model) were an absolute nightmare to keep running properly. As an automotive sculpture the One-77 is absolutely, stunningly beautiful, but to enjoy as a driving owner would hope to expect, there were many others that were going to be far less irritatingly frustrating to own.
