@@Technotranceism The great thing about EVs is that they only use as much power as you put down. So that 35% of 1000hp (350hp?) is only if you floor it. The battery size is only about 8% smaller than in my car (Chevy Bolt ev), but the Spéirling is much more aerodynamic (especially if you removed the wing), and weighs a full 1400lbs less at only 2200lbs! So imagine it could get well into the 300 range and possibly even 400. (Really, I am just flabbergasted at how little this car weighs. This is the first electric car that has hit the "disruptive technology" mark. Fan cars have been done many times before with good results but it's a first on an electric car, and that is where that engineering shines. To most of us, battery powered cars signify a dark agenda used to take away what we love. This car avoids that bit entirely, it was made for pure speed, and a battery is the best tool for the job here. Any car guy can get behind this, regardless of the muscle car they have in their garage. When you peer below the surface it isn't leading us towards 15 minute cities, it's just taking a person around a track as fast as humanly possible. It's honest, it's purpose built like an F40. It's an engineering marvel driven by passion and I am so proud of the men who built it.

That is one sweet looking automobile! The way Tim crunched himself down into that machine, it looks very much like the cockpit of a fighter jet. Even the racing steering wheel looks like the yoke of a fighter jet more so than a steering wheel. No doubt the reason you are so tightly packed into that vehicle is because of g-forces. If you are going for a serious lap record, if your body is moving about in the cabin, that's g-forces and inertia forces acting against forces going the other direction, especially in the curves. The more centerline the body, and the less the body is moving about in the cabin allows the human body to exert less g-forces and inertia. Of course there are a LOT of factors involved including the size of the driver, his or hers experience racing, the way they drive compared to other drivers, etc. We are almost getting to the "pinacle" of what a human can achieve while driving, however, no doubt the future will probably have machines that can do even faster. Hell, some day you might even see a autonomous robotic entity (Think the movie "Chappie") driving an automobile going for the records!

Amazing machine and team. This is a good safety limit set in place for many sports and endeavors 75-80 percent power and limit it is sufficient to experiment and tweak with. This will prevent loss of life as well. Cheers and keep pushing safely.

Ive always dug this little thing. Looks neat and is basically banned racing tech stuffed into a crazy light EV, tho a PHEV version or something with a gas backup generator would be even cooler. May screw up the weight tho, god knows the engineering is next level. Plus, looks like a Mini Batmobile lol

Looking at the lap Max did there is a lot more on the table even in the settings that lap was driven. This car is a true monster!

The bit about collecting rocks and bolts is fascinating. I'm thinking that if some modifications were made to collect the dust and grit then this vehicle would likely be the fastest vacuum cleaner in the world.

What a remarkable car! The technology is incredible... now they just need some equally awesome battery technology that allows the car to run at those crazy speeds for longer than only a few minutes.

Insane to think that seb had a lap 13 seconds faster than this with f1, just shows how unreal some of those speeds are

They said they were running at 75% power and 75% downforce .....even if they run everything at 100% ....they will not beat Seb,s lap record in his F1 Ferrari...!!!.....13 sec,s is too much difference ..!!!
