@1:30 you start listing the 3 different officer ability buffs/debuffs that existed prior to the new Assimilate debuff, however a mistake was made in matching the effect to the name of the effect. the first debuff mentioned was Hull Breach and proceeded to state the effect of the Morale buff, then go on into Hull Breach again and actually state the proper effect. essentially the effect Hull Breach was mentioned twice, the first time incorrectly attributed to the morale effect, then correctly attributed to its proper critical damage boost right after corrected - Morale: Bonus piercing stats Hull Breach: Bonus damage on critical hits Burning: 1% hull decay per round

You do realize that Boimler even at max is going to provide less mitigation than the T1 Gossa on round 1(well first round he procs, and it's cumulative). I love the lower deck crews conceptually but they really don't even make a 3% improvement.

Keep in mind the addition to the bonus is much, much more significant for less high level players which have much lower total bonuses. I've also seen the base assimilate state make a huge difference in specific situations like STI vs STI where it turned a defeat into an easy win. To be fair, that is with the luck of an activation in the 2nd round though. What's maybe missing is that it wont work on abilities that have already activated. All your bonus' from 5 or trinity have been done at the start and won't be affected. All of this being said, I think with all these new BD officers we've got lately it makes more and more sense to lay low on 42 ships and stick to the 34 epics even longer

Thanks, Rev! I’d love to see a video comparing research and Bajoran favors to below deck officers as well as ranking below deck officers (for pvp). Here are some lingering questions: 1. I thought you said Rutherford only gave you maybe one more shot with shields. Have you reconsidered that? 2. How does Kira rank as a below deck officer? 3. Can hemmer help you get to 300% health?

The thing is, I feel Hemmer is too valuable as an officer to be put below deck (and then find out you want him on another ship, but he is below deck of a ship far far away in DS... waste jump juice or time and/or token???)

I think they are better on maxed ships with extra slots. The actual background impact is likely the most impactful aspect.

Have both rare officers. Noticed a slight improvement once. But in typical Scopley fashion, they are only tier 1. No one ever gets new officers to tier 2 or higher with spending since tier 3 and 4 are when they make the most of their stats.

I saw a bigger impact vs ST reduces critical build on Garak it took players an extra round to start critting and 2 rounds to get to a full crit rate /reduced Dukat shots by 1 per gun as he ramped up vs my same tier crew and reduced the amount of reduction Damar does. All this is just reference to the assmilate, which RNG’d activated in the 2nd round for me.

yea RNG plays a big role. We tested with several different ships, every ST crew, etc. I just found it pretty weak overall. Like I said, throw it at the end of your officer list and can help vs same level/same type of players.

At the current point in the game, wouldn't an Assimilate crew actually be a decent counter to Mirror Universe Picard crews by reducing their effectiveness? Could also maximize that further by running a Kras captain crew in conjunction?

Dezok was the only one that seemed interesting, reduction in officer ability can be useful. However, the problem is that fights don't last very long. Dezok's activation condition can't stop Harrison or HG Worf because your hull is at 100% its starting value at the start of the fight. By the time the others get the opportunity to make use of the cumulative stat growth, the fight is already over.

I have a question regarding the talios and vidar. Why do the exocomp buffs for the increased vidar loot not work on the talios..is it not still a vidar..i found they only work on the normal vidar so i quickly fill the cargo slot..my talios is nearing t3 so cargo size is bigger i dont come close to filling it

Why doing tests with the same ship classes? Test Augur (with Dezoc and Gossa) vs D4. In a few round Augur will have hier mitigation. Even 10% difference can matter. And as for the effect (Assimilate) itself it's especially good against ST. For example, if you use Dezok on a Valdore against Kelvin (both with ST), you can delay Kelvin's crits for 1 more round (i.e. from round 6 to round 7). It can be very effective

This is strange, because zhou with his 300% increase makes huge impact on mitigation, Gossa with 150% accumulative should give us the same effect as zhou in round 2 and even better afterwards not some BS 1~2% increase.

No they work fundamentally different. Zhuo adds percentage of officer defence to the base numbers, gossa increases the the mitigation bonus multiplier

It's certainly useless in PVE. :) I hope we can get an officer soon that combines the abilities of Chen and Cath (epic quality Rank 1 = values of Max Chen and Rank 3/4 Cath).

@@RevDeuce I think he meant the actual OAs that are based around borg solo armadas, not the Below Deck assimilation ones. Dezoc in armadas looks terrible to me, and Gossa only mildly better because the crit chance & dmg multiplier on borg solos is only 10% and 150% respectively. It seems like a mitigation/dmg officer would do more than Gossa stopping the few crits that are coming through, especially since you would be taking normal damage still instead of negating the dmg entirely like Pike/Moreau/Gaila stacking for Cardassian madas. Borg Queen seems like a fine replacement for Khan in borg solos if yours isn't tiered up yet and you need the extra mitigation from synergy in a crew like 5/Queen/Lorca.

The real truth is most pvp combat doesn't go past 5 rounds. Most is only 2 or 3. Especially with the strike crews. What is sad is the borg queen is the most feared foe in the universe and yet no one is really fighting to get her. The borg below deck blows. Imo, this is how you fix them. Dezoc: 50% chance to activate at the start of the turn. +25% per borg (any) belowdeck. Applies assimilate as normal. Gossa: if assimilated, +500%(up to 1000%) to the same defenses, per turn, up to 2 turns. Instant a d noticeable change. Or keep it going but at a lesser value. 150-200% per turn. Borg queen: if assimilated, resistance is futile. +5% shield regen per turn. Up to 25%. This will change combat! This will make her desired. This will have players fighting to get her. Or you can make it nasty and go 20-50%.

Im no where near getting these officers, or indeed getting a maxed Enterprise or Auger. Nice to have extra officers but I doubt they have much use unless your a whale with a maxed ship and the ability to field them.

One of the absolute dumbest parts of it is the 'Below 95% Hull' thing. It invalidates the entire thing, because now you can only assimilate Round 2 and beyond, the Officer abilities for your opponent have already fired, so the reduction doesn't matter. They are just terrible and the fact they waste Below Decks spots by taking 3 slots makes them virtually useless. They would maybe be useful if all abilities combined were compressed to a single slot in 1 officer. The fact you had to go out of your way to elongate a fight to like 29 rounds when most PvP fights are maximum 5 rounds and more commonly 3... they're just absolutely terrible I know you're trying to show they do something or not, but it's like you didn't even test the actual intended use case, which would be a main PvP crew. I don't know if they're open to adjusting them more, but they've got to remove the 95% hull requirement and probably literally add a zero to their officer abilities.
