I live in Toledo, Ohio. We don't have wild fires but they check the hydrant near my house a couple times a year, let it run full on about 10 minutes and apparently, change it out about every 10 years. Got a brand new one out there now!

Victor, recently I purchased a 4 lbs box of Sun maid California Raisins. I was shocked, Shocked at the poor quality and inconsistency of the raisins, some being so small they could sit on top of a pencil eraser without extending beyond the eraser's perimeter. The mini raisins were so plentiful that eating a handful gave a crunchy sensation due to the leathery skin of the under developed grapes. I buy about 12 lbs of raisins a year and this was the worse year for Sun Maid's quality I have ever experienced.

Hey Victor! My grandma was from Sweden!! Today Jan 13/14 Newsom has a gleeful interview proclaiming planning for LA 2.0!! As a armchair Roman historian I cannot help but think of Nero when Rome burned down he gleefully remade Rome to his Domus Auria- a palace that took up a 3rd of Rome!!! At last Nero said I have a Palace fit for me!!! Nerosom now laughs as he contemplate s LA 2.0 made in the DEI model!!! He doesn't realize it but he may suffer Nero's fate when the peopls of Rome declared him an enemy of the state!!! Nerosom ironically will probably suffer the same political fate has the people burnt out in LA will turn on this incompetent cabal!!!

I spoke to a person yesterday about the fires. Because I know that this person is an uber liberal, I tried to phrase my observation as mildly as possible “ It seems that there were many failures of government at many levels and some poor decisions that were made, that made the catastrophe worse” The response came quickly “ Oh no, It’s all due to Trump!” i just gaped! This is a well educated person who is a big supporter of the Democratic party. I give up!

I am 86 years old with a classical education when that meant something. So I know about the great water management programs of the 20th Century. Although Victor is very entertaining I find his analysis profoundly depressing. The uneducated people in government today are quite unaware of the arc of history or the importance of the man-made infrastructure which supports our way of life. It is more important for them to be seen riding around in limousines. I tell my liberal friends that one day these people will be coming for you. The government does not care that its rich taxpayer base is being burned out of house and home. So that day has come.

Adam Carolla told Megan Kelly a story the other day abt Suzanne Sommers. She had a fire in her home & she tried for 7 yrs to pull permits. It’s this conservancy group & that group and after 7 yrs she gave up & moved to a Palm Springs/Dessert one of those. These ppl have no idea the brick wall they’re going to run into.
