Hornby you did it again. I'm in OO but this TT scale is really very attractive ! I only wonder where we're going with the pricing. Model railroading is becoming more and more for the 'happy few'. It is truth that "less is more" in designing a model railway to keep the investment reasonable and 'democratic' for everybody - especially young enthousiastes. Bringing 'packs' would be a welcome help at moderate price. Success Hornby and thanks for all the recent 'innovations' - I'm a fan !!

Yes, the single quote ' or inverted coma" signifies feet and the double quotes" or inverted coma's" signify inches. Perhaps he needs to go to Spec Savers or he went to the wrong primary school.

45inch container flats WHAT!! I fell off my sofa laughing so much that I thought I was going to stop breathing, was this error made once? no way this was compounded several times... the level of QA on the video before release just proves the poor state Hornby have got themselves into, they can't get a video correct about their own products.🤣🤣

@@alanhaynes4576 they stopped teaching feet and inches over a decade before he was at primary school (estimated, don't know Mike's age), but yeah, the abbreviations for feet and inches aren't exactly secret information and a couple of minutes to double-check would've been common sense. But I get the impression Mike has zero interest in railways so I imagine the whole script sounds like a foreign language to him. Nothing against the lad, just don't think his heart is in the job.

I’m going to be asleep (in America!) when this starts, but assuming there’s a Q&A… Has Hornby reconsidered TT:120 wagon packs? TT is perfect for modelers who want to create longer formations, so wagon packs with multiple running numbers would be wonderful. Cheers!

Wow, all of this is available now? And, every version of the 37s? I'd love to see both types of 37/9, all the variants of the /6s, and the hundreds of versions of /0s with plated and original headcode panels, with and without plated end doors, with and without high intensity headlight, with and without scottish car headlamp, obviously split or central headcodes plus flush ends and WIPACs (including the light on top of the cab), and more. Especially the unique horns on DB 37419...

All in all some good announcements and together with the models previously announced for release it should be a good year for TT. I like the look of the J50. The new varients of the tank wagons look great too. I would have liked to have seen some more variants of the Mk1s though, at least a catering vehicle. The signals look very well detailed and the level crossing will be a very welcome addition to the range.

4 months wait for just a J50 tank engine and a new set of modern image IFA wagons... really? You've had under two years to work on getting to the stage where TT should have an already decent selection of steam, diesel & modern electric traction yet you still haven't reached that stage. Now I can see why the vast majority of people are not going to make the switch to TT scale or even think about getting into it as frankly there's simply not enough choice in the range and barely any manufacturer outside of Peco etc are actually supporting it. If you want this range to succeed you're gonna have to start pushing for more models to be tooled/developed at a much faster rate than you're currently at, otherwise it's just going to be yet another flop which nobody is going to look back fondly on...
@owenpavey
@owenpavey 7 ай бұрын
I think there are some great innovations to TT,like the standardisation of the couplings and fine detailing but 3 starter sets in 2 years,some of which are more pricey than the OO equivalent isnt screaming value for money which will attract a young audience. Where is the cheap mixed freight set? Or maybe something from the modern era that kids see on the network every day.Azuma? Class 158?

Not gonna lie, I was really hoping for a West Country pacific or a GWR tank engine and autocoach. I feel that Hornby is just catering for the northern regions at the moment, which is not going to help with the current lack of variety in the TT range.

For me, the J50 is the one that I will follow with interest, and hope that people review it when it comes out. I have heard that N gauge handles large locomotives and diesel and electric prototypes well, but I am a little wary of how tank locomotives work in N (perhaps without justification).
@bentullett6068
@bentullett6068 7 ай бұрын
I know someone who models in N scale. He finds running diesel locomotives better than steam or diesel with crank rodding as they tend to be more reliable over long running sessions and aren't as complex to fix as a steam locomotive.

On a personal level I'm definitely interested in quite a bit of this (37 and J50 in particular), but none of the models announced so far line up with the published launch strategy - I thought the idea was to bring in people who aren't already into model railways? Surely they are more likely to have their interests piqued by models of stuff that they see on the network. Just shrinking bestsellers from the OO range doesn't seem to make much sense...

Why is it yet more Eastern Region Steam??? Seems very biased, Modellers have no choice in rhe regions for the steam era. As for the distant junc signal, it shows caution and clear aspects, not distant and clear - really need to pay attention to commentary and reviewing before publishing. Great to see the 37 planned, thank goodness that's a western loco youve scanned, a multi Region loco Talking of which, the HST was introduced on the Western Region so why, yet again, have you chosen yet ANOTHER Eastern Region model???? Nice semaphores, but are Southern Design and not universal BR, so a bit of a blinder there, but would be nice to see them in 00 too. Class 47 next please - once 1:1 replace 47841 which has left now for component recovery and scrapping.
