So if and when a foreigner is able to accept ur naira because he can then exchange it for any other currency easily, will be a game changer. Let's be clear and seperate 'digital currency' from 'cryptocurrency'...they are not the same. Arguable all the digital online, sms transactions are 'digital'..anyhting issued by central bank means it's trackable and verifiable..so no 'secret' passkeys like crypto. Any central bank released digital will track the fiat currency..not another foreign currency and create same currency different values.

@@hustlepays if it's to hedge against inflation I suggest that u use crypto like usdt(this is what I do) or usdc or better yet save in euro on binance but if you like to make online payments in dollar u can use barter or other services that offer a dollar card service. Frankly I'm not really shaken by conversion rates for online transactions since the difference isn't all that much from the calculations I make before hand

As for digital currency the possibility in this country is slim, aside the reasons you just stated, the Nigerians citizens do not trust the government that much, unless it issued on a use by force basis, which is not possible since this isn't a communist state(at least on paper), it will turn Naira to the next shit coin and will be used for alot of ponzi schemes, one advantage is it could help with the dual rate, and make BDC unnecessary, this all depends on the policies they attach to it though, the thing doesn't seem feasible, CBN has more bigger problems to handle, so it's not going to happen soon by my estimates Then The exchange rate dilemma Will only get worse BDC buy from banks and 393-410 and sell to us at 495 they are making massive returns and have no reason to not continue doing this,
