Revealing my MUNDANE Yale Supplements | Kevin Zhen Ezra Stiles Class of 2020

I just want you guys to know that when I applied to Yale… I LITERALLY GOOGLED “why yale.” And the answer to my other Yale supplements were essentially spliced up versions of my essays I recycled for other schools. Truth be told, I don't think my responses were anything special. Maybe the writing quality was good...? I'm not sure. This was four years ago. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below!

Dear Kevin, I don't think you must cure cancer to have an impactful essay. I really enjoyed your essay because it was community-oriented and the imagery was wonderful. I also liked the fact that you cared enough to potray specific instances oh how the children reacted to you at first vs after. Thank you for taking the time out to making these videos.

Your last essay and your commentary brought tears to my eyes. I am a 16-year-old guy, and I love to volunteer/help, and specifically, I love to help kids! I feel like they are the future, and seeing them grow, and grow happy, smart, safe, brings joy to my eyes. I too dream of being a dad one day. I have been thinking of this since I was a little kid myself lol. Many say I need to enjoy my youth years and don't think of this too soon, and I don't plan on having kids anytime soon tbh, BUT, I can't help but always think of my future as a parent, a husband, an employee, etc. Children are literally little angels and they can be shaped to be anything, so why not shape them to be happy, help their communities, and... change the world for the better!

I was actually looking forward to this video thank you so much! It’s really cool you were able to really construct a narrative. Although I agree that the first essay could be considered “mundane”, I would say that the subsequent ones (especially the last one) were quite insightful and thought provoking! Also I left my info for a Friday 20 minute session so looking forward to that!

OMG, I came across your channel today itself and I've literally watched most of your videos. I'm a 9th grader and your videos are really, really helpful!! tysm :) So, I was just wondering if you have any suggestion on submitting an arts portfolio. Like, if my arts supplement isn't good enough for a college/uni...can I get rejected based on that!?

hi Khyati! glad to see you starting early! short answer is No - you won't get rejected simply because of your arts portfolio. Generally speaking, I wouldn't submit an arts portfolio unless you've won at least state-level awards for your artwork. Hope that helps!

Is Yale’s food that good? I’ve been finding mixed reviews online. Are they better than a lot of other colleges’ food? Lol

Great question! It depends on the dining hall lol. When I was there the new colleges had amaazingggg food, but some of the older ones were not as good.

I've also tried other colleges' food, like Princeton, Harvard, Brown, etc. and I think Yale's is better :D
