@@JHartModelworks It's gone wrong already, Justin. I've just knocked a bottle of liquid cement over my bench and am dissolving parts not just chrome 😭

@@petesmodelcarcustoms584 Man that sucks. So far I've only had a bottle of tamiya cement tip over once. For me though it's Micro set. Feels like I can't open a bottle without knocking that effer over.

Nicely done. Since you didn't mention it, did you test the order of the painting on the fenders first? I was wondering why you went with the pearl clear under the green instead of over it?
@JHartModelworks
@JHartModelworks 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Bob, Yeah I usually do test spoons for all my paint jobs first so I have a good feel for the paint and how it's going to spray (this has saved a few bodies from hot zero paints) as well as to determine variables like if I want to use a darker or lighter primer, or run a silver base under a color, and things like that. I wanted the sparkle from the pearl clear, but I wanted it to be more subtle, something that only shows in the highlights. If I did the pearl over the candy green the whole fender would be sparkly all the time. By doing it under the green I got a deep dark green with a lot of life where the light hits.

@@JHartModelworks. That is so awesome to hear. I am the exact same way. When I get a "new" brand of paint I never worked with, I also do tests on the actual plastic sprue of the kit I'm painting. I like what you did with it too!
