Another great video. Do you wear avvy gear when skiing inbounds, or ducking into the side country beyond Jalapeño?
@BramskiVlogs Жыл бұрын
Thanks ❤️ currently I don't but I have got an avy set up for intended touring this year. On the resort I'm not going in areas unless I know they've been blasted before. We've had so little snow lately that the risk is minimal and i was very close to the ropes. But if I was to go a lot further over to Montana bowl then I would probably take my avi gear. I believe Chris Rubens was with a group in there end of last winter and they were caught in an avalanche. Shows it can happen.

Can you exit from the sub peak to south bowl if you wanna see the sub peak view but don’t wanna do powder assault? We are comfortable with Lemming Line and Meet the Neighbours but don’t wanna get in over our heads lol. (We are still scarred from our survival skiing on white wall at KH last season 😅😬)
@BramskiVlogs Жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely 💯 😀Off the sub peak where I traversed you can just take right turn and ski down from there which will eventually rejoin jalapeño/hot sauce etc. Plenty of space up there to take the turns you need.

The dry snow in north bowl was amazing, but the long flat run at the bottom was painful for snowboarders 😂

It really was. I wish I'd gone in there rather than pushing over to Greely. But I really enjoyed south bowl and Montana in the sun! Yeah thay cat track was ungroomed at the bottom of north/Greely. Not fun even for the skiers 😂

any advises for first time at revy? we've been only skiing at resorts before but have been pretty good even on the harder runs?
@BramskiVlogs Жыл бұрын
The pisted runs are now in excellent conditions up top and they are a great way to start getting used to the vertical at revelstoke...it does catch people off guard when it's their first time. If you're looking to try going in the trees for the first time then stick to the likes of tally ho glades/Clyde's secret glades and stihl life glades as they are all between pisted runs and will bring back onto a cat track to get back to the stoke chair. If you're feeling adventurous, want something more challenging and don't mind a little hike then head to north bowl.

how long does the subpeak hike take?
@BramskiVlogs Жыл бұрын
Great question, depends on fitness. But first time of the season it took me about 30 minutes. You're above 2000metres so the heart rate gets going. I went up twice the next day and it took me around 20 minutes.

good to know. by the way, revy is in for a stormy few weeks after the 5th of january. a ridge of high pressure over most of the interior plains has finally broken down after what seems like months and allows cold air and storms to finally reach the interior, leaves the storm potential open for maybe 2 weeks at least. praying for snow ill be out on the 15th

possibly the most under serviced ski hill in north america with some of the best terrain. gotta climb to get to the best terrain and then suffer a death defying ski out each time. Only 3 lifts in the entire resort !! c'mon revelstoke ownership - time to add new lifts as has been rumoured for years.
@BramskiVlogs Жыл бұрын
There's one planned for south bowl but no timeline on it yet.
@jaytabac6525 Жыл бұрын
i have been skiing Revelstoke since it re-opened in 2008. I have been hearing about lift expansion ever since. after 14 years of operation it is evident that ownership is happy taking in profits without reinvesting into capitol improvements in lift services. its true that the terrain is amazing, highest vertical in the rockies, good snow, etc . . . when all is said and done, you are left with long lift lines and an under serviced ski hill. will not be going back any time soon. @@BramskiVlogs

@@jaytabac6525 I'm not sure when you've experienced long lift lines at revy and what exactly you would count as 'long'. In the three winters ive been here you barely ever have to wait and if i did its maximum 10- 15 mins. February long weekend is an exception but it's definitely not a whistler style lift line. This winter is different too because you've not had most of the mountain open due to the low snowfall, so everyone's been pushed up to the top of the mountain. But I think Revelstoke is the youngest ski hill in all of Canada right? I'm glad it's not an overly developed resort just yet, you have to actually put in some leg work to get to the sweet spots and it makes it all the more worth it. If that's not the skiing you enjoy that's then that's ok.
@jaytabac6525 Жыл бұрын
@@BramskiVlogs as i stated. i have been to Revy about 7-8 times. I agree that it has some excellent terrain, but as i am getting older, i am not thrilled about limited lifts, long waits when there is good snow, long ski outs and traversing to get to most of the good terrain, and i cannot climb more than once per day. the ski out is brutal as well. i prefer kicking horse by far. also prefer Whistler. We get up early and get to the top before most people, and lap the good snow a few times before most people show up. At Whistler, there are so many great places to ski due to the vast lift accessibility.

Ya so many tools online giving away the lesser known spots. People used to be cool, then losers got social media accounts instead of friends and decided to ruin the mountain. The secret spots aren't for the tourists, that's the point, when you frequent the mountain you find them or ride them with other locals. The sad thing is most of these influencers won't actually make any substantial income from steaming, so they are selling out everyone for nothing but clout. Dude, just ride the mountain and enjoy it.
