On my father's side, there were three grandsons, myself and my two cousins, and my dad's parents loved us all. They lived to meet three great grandchildren, my daughter, my older cousin's daughter and my younger cousin's son. And they loved them all too. And when my marriage failed, my grandparents still loved my ex, and sometimes they would visit them or invite them to their beach home (we were all lucky that we got to visit that place, and luckier to have them for many years). That was how grandparents were supposed to act, and I miss them now, but I have many wonderful memories.

That a female misogynist, plain and simple. It must suck to have a mother (and mother in law) like that. My own paternal grandmother (through my biological father's side) was also one with favorites. She always treated ME with more affetion then my little sister. She doesn't do it conciously but it still hurt to think about and watch. Especially now that I have seen it firsthand and understand it and see it for what it is. To this day, my little sister is indiffrent towards her. After learning of her true nature from my parents, I decided to put some concious distance between us. I didn't contact her much too begin with, but now I have bittersweet feelings towards her. She was very special to me when I was little and I do still have some care for her. She is just twofaced and mean completly conciously. I feel little sorry about that😪

She's insecure about her own cooking. Cooking's her pride and joy, empathies on pride. She believes because she can "gourmet" food, she has the right to be a judge of it. Watch Gordon Ramsey's "Nightmare Kitchens" and other shows: for all his harsh language and criticisms, when you take a closer look at whom he's yelling at...they're a lot like grandma. Not all of them, sure, but when you dig a bit deeper...it's people with bad behavior towards others.

Although I'm very happy it has finally standing up for his granddaughter he has no authority or right to kick her out of the house. Marriage means the Property belongs to both of them she doesn't have to leave. And if she does any court will say that she's relinquishing her property. That's why you never leave. Please please stop giving one culture's response to this situation it's very misogynistic. He cannot kick her out of the house as well as she cannot kick him out of the house. Am I happy she's finally recognizing that she deserves the punishment yes but stop giving cultural references that are irrelephant.

I think "golden" anniversary ts the 50th? Is that correct? I recently turned 50 so from my perspective that is an entire life time. If she is such a terrible person shouldn't that have leaked out in other ways besides how she treated her grand daughter? The marriage realistically should have ended much sooner because you can only compartmentalize your behaviors so much. Major red flags to the kind of person she was should have been obvious much earlier.
