I bought a DE-7 back in high school for less than 50 bucks because it was the cheapest delay in an instrument bazaar in my city. At the time I didn't like it very much because I didnt know how to use it, but as I grew up and started watching videos on that pedal, I realized that it was actually really cool and a hidden gem. I'm really proud of owning it now, specially because they are getting more and more rare and more expensive too.

The danelectro fab echo is super underrated as a slapback/room reverb too. Paired with your amps reverb, which has a longer tail end, it sortve brings the reverb into focus. Also, the Nux OD-3 is a tubescreamer absolute clone. Both these for $30 combined and youre off to a great start.

@mortachaiepstein35845 жыл бұрын
DUDE! Tone Lok for the win! Speaking of Tone Lok, the Ibanez PD7 Tone Lok Phat Hed Bass Distortion is the single greatest bass distortion ever, full stop. Instead of having a blend control like 90% of bass distortion pedals, Ibby just had a progressive gain stage where anything sub 100ish Hz isn't distorted and the higher the frequency, the more distortion there is. The tone is what sets it apart from any other pedal. Whereas most bass distortion pedals either try to (1) clone some obscure fuzz pedal from the 1960's that uses germanium transistors, tubes and the milk of virgins or (2) just make an Ampeg SVT growl pedal, Ibanez just took a ProCo Rat-based distortion circuit and put that progressive gain stage on it, along with a two-band EQ with like 20dB(!) of boost or cut . The overdrive circuit is a clone of the TS-9 but voiced better for bass, and with a progressive gain stage that is more extreme than what is normally on a TS-9. This OD circuit is actually fantastic for boosting a guitar metal amp, as a friend of mine who borrowed it found out. Then there is a clean channel that is essentially a booster/preamp. Then there is the "attack" circuit. The attack circuit is pointless and terrible. Keep it turned off.

@@TheDmonet true. You could always mod it yourself though. Not hard to swap out a switch. It’s just a switch. On that note, I wish Digitech would stop using those awful pcb mounted tiny switches.
