Even after earning PhD in Australia it was difficult to get a job in the field and need to rely on survival low paying work. Did not want to damage my career further.

@@pannu679 She did her MBA from NMIMS , which is considered one of the better MBA schools in Mumbai and you can clearly see that her communication skills are good plus she already has some experience in Marketing . Based on her interview its clear that she has figured out her career path in Mumbai and not so much in Canada. I guess she is not looking to open a business but just a good paying corporate job in Marketing , which should not be difficult to find in Mumbai.. Not everyone wants to go through the immigrant grinding experience and for a lot of people once they succeed in western countries and then they have second thoughts whether they wasted their time by going through the grind . I think she has figured out what she wants to do , just waiting for the opportunity which is a great thing for a young person to have

I think we must thank to the culture we grew up to take sorted decisions. Even in my school n college I was very much sorted. Worked in US and after marriage took certain steps to leave US and go back home country, but not happened the way she decided. It happened other way they forced him to leave US and TC of his mom. But unfortunately she keep coming to US in her 70s to her daughter place, as she loved this lifestyle. But when I look life future stand point of view, still India is better. We come here to US for our holidays n enjoy, Coz in your old age there is no answers for do you still want to do lawn moving? Ice clearing, self driving for hospitals, there is absolutely no one around in your oldest age. Considering home takers in US during old age, still do they do the same justice what Indian people (maid/helpers) do? These are deep, but somewhere it’s gonna be difficult decision at the moment, but he is earning much way better than any country offers, with good position in corporate… Only in the mode of earning lot of money, we r loosing out our precious life. We can’t run our life as “Machine”!

I feel like this is soley her perception and she's adamant and prefers marketing only and compares that to India. She also says that Finance field is doing very well in Canada. So, I think Canada is a country where you might have to change your field depending on what is in demand. It is a country where in demand jobs change season to season and is quite volatile in that aspect. If you look at a field like IT you will thrive in any country because basically you do the same thing regardless India, Canada or USA. I guess the whole take from this interview is select the country based on opportunities you may have in your field, do some research and if you are moving to a new country you might have to move out from your field for sometime so be ready for it.

How long have you lived in Canada. Let me tell you my story. I consider Canada my adapted mother, and she took such a good care of me and I was a decent adapted son. I came to Canada with my mom and dad. We picked berries in the summer and after summer I went to school and parents collected UI. I studied to be an engineer and now retired and mom&dad have passed. There is no place or people like Canada it is a heaven on earth but you have to work hard to get there.

Centennial college is not an accurate representative for Canadian education system. It's like saying someone went to India and studied in Kanpur University. India also has IITs and IIMs. I know that she did not generalize but the host was trying to put words in her mouth. There are good and bad educational institutions in both India and Canada. It's depends on your exsiting skills and where you get an admit from.

If Amisha had a bachelor degree from India, why did she join Centennial College for Marketing Management ? It is a just community college . She should have tried to get admission to any of several universities in Canada that offer MBA . It is futile to complain about the quality of education in a community college because educational expectation are low for these colleges . And it is quite laughable to say Canadian education is worse than Indian education. I am sorry , but the interviewer should get his head examined for saying so or at least implying that. But one has to compare apples to apples. At the school level, most Indians go to private schools in India whereas most students in Canada go to public school or in other words , government or municipal schools . So there is no comparison there . And, secondly, even the lower rated universities in Canada are superior to most universities in India . I have gone through both the Indian and North American post secondary university education myself so i have some idea.. Community colleges such as Centennial are meant for Canadian students who are not good enough for Canadian university but still need more than a high school diploma.

I think going to top tier universities can help one. Just look at the top 3-5 MBAs employment reports. People are making 100K+ post MBA. I think one should only go to Canada if one gets into the best universities only such as University of Toronto, McGill, Queen's, etc.

No matter how much "thorough research " one does from back home, the reality that hits anybody once they land here is going to be different. For many students getting a PR will be a priority but for a few lucky ones like her, it's not. The grass is always greener on the other side.

Genuine, smart kid but two wrong decisions - marketing course and community college. It's not a case of reverse migration but landing in the wrong situation. However, she learned from her experience and now taking a corrective action. Community colleges are for profit and don't offer the same level as university education. Moreover, NMIMS in India has better credentials and offers quality education, especially since their MBA program is well recognized. This interview didn't add any value as the interviewer did not do his homework.

If you would have done proper research and got into top schools for those field than the education and learning part would have been better. @@varunamjiya2612 Not always. Traditionally Canada considered anybody landed in Canada as immigrants. There is even a term called "landed immigrant". Even a visitor was originally deemed as landed immigrant. Before 1974 you can just fly in from India and apply for immigrant status. Many of my friends came in that way.

In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no culture, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, only modern slavery, worst healthcare system, unbearable political correctness, crime infested/drug infested, xenophobic people, too depressing. It has become a North Korea style dictatorship in the western world. There are many reasons why Canada has fallen apart. But the number one reason is ‘multiculturalism’. My friends, multiculturalism simply does not work. Different cultures do not come together and mix, different cultures come together and clash. The world is divided into different countries for a reason: because people hate each other and only want to be with their own kind. The number two reason for Canada’s demise is ‘socialism’. In this modern era of aging populations, it is mathematically impossible for socialism to continue. The government does not have the money to take care of old people and provide healthcare, pensions, welfare, unemployment benefits, disability benefits and the numerous other programs, even with the astronomical taxation that burdens hard working Canucks. Don't take otherwise but for viewers I am adding this, so they can avoid this common mistake. College admission has short duration courses which they call certification courses or diplomas. Again as you said there was no one to guide you properly. It was May be a fast track diploma kind of certification to get PR. College education is supposed to be intermediate before university. Degrees allotted by universities and not by colleges. University degrees always have two or more years of duration. Canada isn't going to decline admission to someone who already has PG degree but still want to downgrade and enroll in college. Anyway it's helping the Canadian economy. However again this is not about you, please don't take it upon yourself, but some people who are only interested in PR would do that one year and call it a PG degree just to boast back in India. It's a win win for them and Canada too.

There are so many red flags here - 1. The girl has done BBA from NMIMS (a reputed institution in Mumbai) and then takes admission in a PG course from "Centinial College" in Marketing Management - Should have researched a bit more than just relying on the so called education consultant - I am sure with Good MBA course from Top 5 universities or Masters in Marketing from a University her experience would have been a different (She said so - maybe parents have too much money or just don't care - I can't think of a middle class parents in India who are so indifferent about their child's future) 2. Centinial has a good reputation 😂 if you go by counsellor(s) - It's an open secret that these so called "Colleges" in Canada pay commission to these self proclaimed education counsellors... That's why research on your own is so important 3. After such a garbage course you can't expect a good placement when there are 100s if not 1000s of students competing with you for a position with better credentials (from Top 5 Universities in Canada) 4. If you live in GTA (especially Brampton or Scarborough or other shady downtown areas), you need to aware of your surroundings all the times. It's notorious, dangerous at certain times of the day and it's again another open secret (her friend who lived in the city for 5-10 years should have pointed that out to her). This is true not just for Toronto but for any major city in North America. Anyways that's not end of the life... Every experience is a learning experience. You seems to be matured and have noted the takeaways. All the best for the future!

@@Videoorchard For any large North American City - Avoid areas which are not crowded after dark (Areas such as downtown core which gets empty after office hours, Parks & Trails which are used by drug addicts/ homeless people after dark for illicit activities, if you can afford try & avoid public transport at late hours (alternative is Ride sharing like Uber or owning a vehicle), there are designated "Notorious" neighbourhoods in each city which people living in those cities know for sure (mostly ghettos, neighbourhood with low income government housing, shelter homes, safe injection sites (specific to Canada)). Basically, use your common sense & be aware of your surroundings all the time... For example, I know Mumbai is a safe city but that doesn't mean I should go to Dharavi slum areas at 2 a.m. just for an adventure or take a walk in/around Sion Fort / Old, Unused mill compounds at night. Common sense is rare these days but it can save your life ;)

Just some feedback for the host. When you use the word "podcast" it means a discussion, not an interview. This was an interview not a podcast. You have been living in Canada for a long time, your insights could also be interesting to the listeneres. So, instead of using direct questions like "Did you have a cultural shock?", you could first give your stories and opinions without taking too long and then let the guest share their experience. This is how podcasts and interviews are different. You shouldn't put the entire onus of talking on the guest. This is also what leads to good long fun discussions because the guest is not just answering your questions like an interview but rather engaging in a discussion with you. For example, you might start off with your own opinion, there is a good chance that the guest might disagree with you on something. This can then sprout into a fun discussion. This one tip will make your life as a podcaster much easier. The podcast is always about the guest "and" the host, don't be afraid to be just as much a presence as the guest.
