You are still not over it Sir. That is why you listened to a 2 hour podcast just to satisfy your mind that the decision which you took back in 1994 was worth or not. Plus Middle East especially UAE and Saudi are not good for Indian or 3rd world country professionals, I stayed there and worked for 2 years, you get paid based on your passport, where 1st world employee will be payed 10times more that what you make. If you buy a house with the Indian salary you will end up being broke if you not working in top management. Your stay is based on the whims and wishes of you employer and management, where Mallu's and few South Indian's in management will stick together and sometimes might not renew non-Mallu, Non-South Indian's PR. Let me tell you what did you miss out, if you would have worked more harder to get a job like others did in Canada back in 80-90's, you and your kids would have been Canadian Citizen, buy now you would have made good number of assets worth Multi-Million Dollars which would have been 10times the assets that you have now in India, your kids might have enjoyed the benefit of those assets by renting them out or selling it and let's suppose if you would have started a business then you would have been more rich by now. I have not seen a single broke Indian here in Canada who moved in 80 and 90's all of them have multiple properties are super rich 90% of them started with basic jobs, some started as a Farm Worker, Gas Station cleaner, Janator. Maybe these couple's in their 60's will end up watching similar video's to satisfy their mind about their decision to move out of Canada.

@@ap71284 ME does sucks, especially if one is not in reputed MNCs or Mega firms like ADNOC/QP/Aramco etc. That being said, if you are in right corner in ME, it can work wonders for you n family. Don't bother what a white man gets, you still gets 4X or 6X compared to India, that too tax free. ME is extension of India, just 2 hrs away - with marvelous food options. All the freedom in the world wont help, when your pockets are empty - and when its full you dont need to bother yourself with unnecessary loud mouth. Canadian citizens themselves are leaving to seek cheaper home and better health care - ofcourse not everyone can but many would if possible. Letting go of an option to Immigrate to Canada isn't easy - and Uncle indeed decided against popular choice - and hence seek some validation of his choices in the past. Im pretty much sure he had and has the most peaceful retirement that he deserves - and yet lots of old age people still working in WallMart of Mississauga. You can check during your next visit.

These people are babies. No one can be successful within a year. I am also IIT graduate with MBA and I worked in restaurant when I came to USA. For me it took about 4 years to get the satisfactory job and settle down. Struggle is everywhere. It’s just how you take it. As of now I work 5 days a senior Engineer and weekends I work in hotel as a front desk plus just started my PhD in Global Leadership. Brother, since you are educated, not today but tomorrow you will definitely find a better job . So my advice is you both are very young and still you have time to invest in struggle to find the better job so do it.

Coming to Canada was their decision. They couldn’t do their own research about the PR process and did whatever the consultants asked them to do. This whole conversation reeks of privilege. At the AirBnb, they messed up the table, instead of owning up to their mistake, they chose to run away.

We are very well settled now with home and high paid jobs and yet we are moving to india 🇮🇳 next year. Canada has changed a lot in last few years. It definitely was great country to come to once but no more. My advice to all who are considering to come here , if you are making enough in India please do homework before you come to ensure that this is really what you want. I listened to your whole podcast and it was so satisfying and consoling to watch. I'm a student, and I came a year ago. What happened to you, happened to me as well that it has been a year and I had most of negative experiences out of every experience I have had, from accommodation to roommates to me having no mattress and I'm sleeping on wooden floor because I was new and didn't have proper jacket where there was central heating and heaters were not on when it was starting of fall and my 2 others roommates living in same master bedroom didnt care to even offer me their jackets at least, I began my journey as a new student of canada. This experience was nothing what I went through later. So, yes, this is the scene of new students coming to Canada, you have to be prepared not only about house, but people around you, how roommates can exploit, grocery, rent etc. And most importantly for girls or people who are soft spoken or never have been exposed to real world, they have to be prepared not mentally but also to speak upfront and not be hesitant or think that what will others think if I speak. It is really important to take stand for yourself. I think it is important for people to beware or have slightest idea of what type of situation they can get into, so that at that point of time they will be like, ok, i saw this coming now what is the solution of it, otherwise if you dont have slightest idea than first you will be shook, than you can get into panick mode, and instead of finding solution you will get confused and then you can have all type of negative thoughts that why i came here, did i make right decision, and at certain point of time, you start to doubt and question in every type of decision you make. Secondly, as a student when you have study permit, I would like to focus that right now getting job is the most difficult thing here. Even after having full time availability, related job experience, job related license like security or smart serve, the probability of getting job is very very low. For one position vacant 20-30 people goes and applies, whereas in some case there are even 100's. So, I know the comment is too long but I wanted to express what i felt and I would feel really good if any person or girl who is like me sees my comment just braces themselves and have a reality check as a student. Some student may have wonderful experiences, and some may have worse, and worst people can do is to compare both of those lives and say ki isne to yaha aake itna kuch kar liya, tu kya kar raha hai vaha jake. Those people who are having bad time are aware of their situation too, so, just support them, talk to them, and give them moral support. Lastly, I would say that I opened my own KZbin channel when I was really anxious and low, making content helped me to get out of my bed and do something productive which i can be proud of and have a little appreciation about, so do support me there as well. Thank you.

We appreciate the feedback but again it was our journey and experiences throughout. Everyone has their own story or somewhat similar to what we shared. We chose what we felt was right at that point of time. We are not spoiled rich kids because we do have a family to feed and debts to repay on our own. It was our hard earned money that we spent not a single penny from parents. Every country has their own pros and cons, be it Canada or India. However, we are grateful for this journey even if it was full of hardships. We learned and moved on. ❤️☺️

My Two Cents on this , First of all it takes guts to share your story on a public platform so Kudos to the couple , But one thing to be noted here is that Life no where is comfortable , I totally agree that it is much more harder for students to come here and settle down but again if you are moving to a new country one should be fully prepared that its going to be hard , Its similar to climbing a mountain , As you go up it keeps getting harder and finally when you come down its easier, I came on Work permit initially and it was hard for me too to settle down but everything takes time and eventually it does ease down .Also you have to be self motivated , There is no one to blame specially not your parents . We can either have a negative approach towards life in or work towards making things better , A wealthiest person might be the most unhappy person and vice versa , If you look at life a with a happy smile, life will smile back at you. Medical Care is a real concern and personally am worried about that too , just hoping the government would do something someday! Wishing you best of luck in your journey and thanks to Canada Couple for sharing the podcast.

Medical care in Canada will not improve for the next ten years as the nos of Immigrants coming to Canada & the medical facilities existing are great mismatch. Secondly with the category based draws in express entry no doctor from India or Asian countries would like to come as the strugle to give medical equivalency test / exam of Canadian medical degree will be a big dampner for them. It seems like living abroad is a new social status for people here in India but I totally agree with these people. I have lived in UK for a year and I ran back to India after completing my post grad. Life is extremely difficult and you have to be really really hardworking to survive. I was also working in an IT company here in India and had to work in a warehouse in UK to survive and faced similar problems like them. Now I am in India, got a job in IT again, I've a good package and feel like life is really comfortable. I would recommend you move abroad only if it's the last straw for you. If you live a comfortable life in India, it's a luxury. Don't even thing about moving abroad.

That is a great video explaining why these guys moved back to India. Their experience and struggle seems harsh and what they have been through as a couple especially when the wife was ill with no medical facilities over here, makes it very difficult. I would like to share my experience, I came to Canada in Aug 2022 as a student and came to north york, while my university is in Brampton (with a 2 hours bus ride/subway one side). I am working two jobs, one at walmart in the morning and at a gas station in the evening, sometimes hours get cut but management is the only thing that can make us come out of this. I was working as an accomodations manager in a start up in Gurgaon (it was work from home) and living with my parents in Sarojini Nagar, Delhi. Working as a musician and also doing gigs after my job which was from 8-4 or 12-8. I am also a certified vocal trainer in Western music and on my weekends i used to teach music too. Making almost 1 lac per month with my hard work and following passion for music. I came here to explore more opportunities and finally seeking better lifestyle, but the truth is exactly what these guys have explained. From a point of life where people get settled, i started my life again at the age of 28 when I came to Canada. I too have faced these medical facilities issues, waiting gor hours for the doctor at the hospital, paying $200 dollars for normal check up and getting just $40-$60 dollars back from the University health insurance, missing buses and taking the uber, making only half of your pay as you spent a lot on your Uber that day, jobs scarcity as every four months 2 lakhs of students come here seeking jobs, they are ready to do the same job you are doing at a low cost, no social circle and finally losing my pasion for music and not been able to play guitar or meet another musician more than an year. I would really recommend this to everyone who are thinking of coming to Canada, to all the new people, think four or five times before coming here, missing damily, friends and especially that life (I had my own car, used to play gigs in the evening, doing a corporate job) and now I clean, take transactions and see no growth as of now, especially till the time i am student (till April 2024). Canada may have a lot to offer, but you will need very good financial backing to survive all of this. If you listen to these guys too in the vudeo, ultimately they lost the battle as they couldn't fund it anymore and finally made a better plan which is going back to have a better future. I hope you all should know that Canada is expensive and damn expensive if you will be taking loan to study here. I took a loan of 20 lakhs to come here at an interest of 10.5% which now has increased to 13.5%, so financial burden back home is also adding up. My best suggestion to all the newbies would be to think, discuss and understand why do you want to come! As per those who are already here in Canada, all the best to you all. As I know it's really hard and challenging, but you will make it. Thanks to these guys for making this video. I still believe as my family background and experience, India is the place for me. Canada is not worth it, but make a plan and then make decisions. Cheers \m/

I think the main issue with them is that they were working professionals back home. But here they are on study permit and should have concentrated on completing their course first. Once done with their study they would have moved to the next stage i.e. Work Permit and then PR and finally Citizenship. I feel their expectation was of a PR immigrant than of a Student.

@@mayuradeshpande8832 By the way, as you know, every Tom, Dick, and Harry wants to by default settle down in Brampton/Toronto and hence the high cost of living. If one tries to explore other cities such as Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Halifax, or Ottawa, I am sure many issues can be addressed. But you tell me, will any Indian try to search anything beyond Brampton - definitely not? I initially came to Toronto as a Permanent Resident and looking at this high cost of living, I asked a bunch of ppl that I know of, about opportunities in the above cities. Everyone was like - jobs are not there, ppl are not there, and all that. I landed two jobs in Calgary, and one in Winnipeg and proved to them all they all are completely wrong. Settled in Calgary, amazing city it is. Able to buy a car, had some good savings, and now looking forward to buy a house (hopefully under god's grace). I am sure if every Indian tries exploring opportunities in other cities, many issues can be addressed? But do you think our Indian dudes will leave Brampton? - Hell no way By the way, when I came to Brampton, I found that the most racist dudes are the same Indians. I am also from India and I never spoken Hindi my whole life. Whenever I meet a random dude in Brampton, they expect me to speak in Hindi. If I don't speak in Hindi/Punjabi, that's it - dudes and those aunties will start mocking me. Although I too equally gave back some explanation, I felt a loooooooot better after moving to Calgary, where no Indian can mock me for not speaking Hindi. Honestly, I did not understand a word of this video but just was reading some comments. Hope you too won't mock me for not knowing Hindi/Punjabi. Lol

1) Both of them are little immature 2) Luck was not by there side Nevertheless even if they had built a decent life here, the hardships exist after that as well. The way she mentioned that 3 times fresh meal a day is truely a luxury here. With jobs and kids, its very difficult to have that here. If in India we lack the basics like clean air and clean water, here we lack the basic lifestyle. Everything is hard, we need to choose which hard is sustainable for us.

Why would you expect things to be same as India? It is given that any new place (even within India) you go to, you should be observing for new ways of doing things. People with that kind of mindset, should stay where they have grown up. These people came from a big city Delhi. I cam from a smaller town in Punjab, back in 1987, and still I was conscious of new ways of doing things. And back then, internet was not available like it is today. For these kind of people, going back to India, is the RIGHT DECISION.

Great podcast!!! Lovely couple who narrated their life story so wonderfully. There are many pros and cons to relocating to Canada from India . Clean environment, clean air, clean water, great spring and summer weather, best schools and colleges for children, diversity of population, free healthcare. The cons would be high taxes, harsh winters, expensive real estate and poor service in Healthcare. Also if you are highly educated and well experienced you will start your new career in Canada from the bottom. 10-15 years ago India was different and today’s India is quite different. I think with a decent salary (salaries in India are now quite competitive to west) you can live like a King and Queen in India. That’s is the biggest difference. Earn so much money that you can send your kids abroad for further education because Indian education and social life will make them street smart. So to many couples who are planning to go to Canada now think twice. You have to sacrifice a lot to start a new life in Canada !!!! I left Canada because of harsh winters. Didn’t want to spend 6months in cold.

It is about all the harsh reality, meaningful discussion, and much appreciated. We also faced similar issues in NZ, but after 4 months, thjngs started falling in place by accepting the jobs in different fields so that we could run our lives smoothly. We decided to embrace life, and that helped in surviving, though it was not easy to work in different work field wherein we had no expertise and moreover our work experience of almost 20 years from India were not been considered, caused high level of anxiety. Finally, after 5 years in NZ, when we look back, we feel proud of what we have gone through and what we have accomplished, and that made us stronger. I dont see it as a failure if one decides to go back. It about living life they way we want, dont try to impress the world, stay happy, and live happily wherever you are. I agree somewhat. Hardwork is great and should be done if its gonna yield results. But the latest influxes of immigrants into canada has lowered the overall standard of living. You can work 2-3 jobs and still never be able to buy a house in canada. And it doesn't help when the toxicity is rising at work when the immigrant indians will put up with tons of abuse at work like unpaid ot, overload of work, etc. The Indians born or raised in canada think like locals. Plus the office politics when indians become bosses and the power rushes to their head.

You're comparing a third-world like India, where some of the poorest people in the world live, where some of the world's biggest slums are, where some of the biggest gap between the wealthy rich and the poor exist, where some of the most corrupt leaders live (in fact, if you don't commit a rape against a woman, you won't have a seat in the senate), where some of the world's filthiest cities exist, where some of the world's most polluted cities exist, where unkept animals roam freely and crap next to you, where there is not a social security net for its population, do you want me to go on? Now compare this to Canada, where the even "cesspools" are cleaner than some of the cleanest cities in India, where even those on the streets get social safety nets, where even those that are jobless get on EI. If you or your international students don't like it here, they don't like it because they figured out they have to work. Yes, in Canada, you have to work. In India, you have to work. With all due respect to the couple, and I appreciate all their hardships, but the more I watched the video, the more it seems that they did not have a plan or even basic fact checking both for agents and other details. Canada is tough, and times are hard, but the reality is if you want to do well in life, hard work is a prerequisite. If they had planned better and networked some more, I could imagine that their experience would be a different one.

I like this video, thank you for sharing this with us. I think they have depicted the reality of Canada. Of course I know that each person can have a different experience, but I feel like in Canada new immigrants, especially in the last couple of years , struggle a lot, more than before. More people are coming, cost of living is getting higher, Medical infrastructures are getting worse, housing issues aswell...I feel like the Canadian gvt is inviting more immigrants, but doing nothing to improve the infrastructures to handle more people. A lot of people I know who live in Canada tell me that their salary is not enough for all the expenses they have, they cannot even think about buying a house. There are not enough places to live and demand is increasing hence the price increase and more people will also scam you to take advantage of your situation. And if something goes wrong and you get sick, or if your children get sick... good luck with the medical system. I feel like if someone came to Canada 5-6 years ago maybe the situation was better. But now for new immigrants it's very difficult, it's very hard to climb the ladder when your income does not even cover the cost of everyday living. I'm just talking about the basics, that you need to survive, utilities, grocery, rent , insurance...leave alone even the thought of buying a house. Not to depress anyone, but this is the reality you will face. I like that they talked about it, because on KZbin , vloggers always talk about how great Canada is. Which is also good because it's good to stay positive, but as Canada couple said, see both sides of the coin and be prepared. Thank you ! Keep up the great work ! I'm loving the new channel so far :)

Regarding the wrong advice from immigration consultant, I can relate to that point. I had the same profile which fulfill all criteria of express entry system (masters+ 3yrs exp+ CLB 10 IElts etc). In 2021 when FSW draws were stopped, I went to study visa consultants, they advised me same that dont opt for immigration route, go for study route (HELL EXPENSIVE in compariosn to immigration) and erase your masters from your profile.. Thanks God I didnt listen to them and didnt opt for study route and stayed in pool improved my CRS. Study visa consultants are biggest scammers. I advise same to other ppl who are less then 31 that study route is expensive + there is no guarantee you will get PR. We have example of CEC candidates infront of us. Kudos to this couple who shared their journey and showed the actual reality of Canada.

They came to Canada with the mindset of only working and not studying, wont recommend that to anyone. They took a home far from University then they are crying about travelling 3.5 hours one way. My advice would be to come after school or after graduation in your prime years when you dont get sick. All the things they are crying about is the same in India for a poor labourers child, he also has to work and study at the same time.

My grandsons are living in Vancouver and are totally vegetarian. They studied their and did IT but so far they didn't get the proper job. In Canada what job I am to get it is not your choice; you have to see whether you are getting a job you are able to handle. It takes about 5-8 years to totally settle yourself. The worst thing in Canada is Healthcare. Terrible to receive treatment. I feel time is coming when the people will stop going to Canada.

I am not being judgemental, but the couple here seem very negative about all their experiences in Canada. Getting out of the protective environment we get in India and being on your own, braving all the hurdles in a new country is the adulting process. Life nowhere is a bed of roses. Life skills score over everything else - they help us cope with stress and rough times. Tough experiences help us grow and evolve. In tough times we can choose either of the two - "Flight or Fight". They have chosen the former. Best of luck to the duo!

When we are in India,we keep cribbing, complaining about so many things and think that Indians living in these developed countries are so lucky but let’s not forget that the kind of freedom, flexibility and comfort our own country is giving you is unmatched. Here you have strong support system in terms of parents, relatives, maids and friends ,you can leave your house at midnight for a tapari chai , have get together , talk and laugh loudly, sing loudly, dance, order food…life is so cool and festivals make it even more vibrant and happening.
