Gen is an incredible and very human character. He is a complete manipulator and a liar, but at the same time he is someone who cares greatly for his friends and who would do what it takes to protect them and help them meet their goals, how when he infiltrates an enemy base still at low risk of being discovered and caught or when in this same scene shortly afterwards he gives Chrome the other joker to meet his dream to see the world.

When Gen was one of the first additions to the team, I just thought he would be useless. A con artist wouldn't survive much in a world of stone. "He isn't physically strong nor is he mentally strong. How is his social skills supposed to help him when Society has regressed so far?" Well he just ends up scamming pretty much the entire cast and making a solid living, never really getting beaten. Honestly I love his addition to the team now.
