REVERSE THYMIC INVOLUTION. Is it a cure for aging? It might be, according to Dr. Greg Fahy. In this video, we'll be discussing how the thymus changes with age, the effect that has on the immune system, and some recent research into reversing this aging process.
In this video, we'll dig into how our immune system guards us against disease and pathogens that are new to our systems as well as ones we've encountered before, and how important the thymus is in that process.
While the thymus might change significantly we age, does that mean we can't do something about it? Can we regenerate thymic tissue? Let's take a closer look at how we might be able to make a difference.

1. Growth Hormone: If you do enough sport and intermittent fasting your growth hormone will skyrocket 2. Metformin: helps to reduce glucose in blood stream and can be also done by fasting 3. Vitamin D: supplement it if you are not getting enough sun 4. Zinc you can get from supplements or veggies

Corrections: 3. The best way to reduce blood glucose is by avoiding excess consumption of sugar and carbohydrates. If you do this, metformin is not needed. 4. The best sources of Zinc are oysters and liver. Eat one of these once a week.

Excellent explanation on this key point in aging biology. That the clock was turned back over a year while a year elapsed for a net result of two plus years age reversal is the proof we are on the right track. Now for us older guys we just have to remain healthy long enough to take advantage of everything coming our way.

A video on telomere regrowth for life extension might be an interesting video, if you haven't done one already. Apparently, if you can continually regrow your telomere's, you can continually renew cell life and therefore human life span. There are ways to do this: diet, meditation, exercise, but science is looking at more. Also, there are trees that have evolved to produce their own telomerase enzyme in sufficient quantities to continually extend their lifespan. Supposedly these trees exist in California as well as other locations around the world, and are 5000 plus years old.

Great, concise Thymus info! I'm 72 with HIV so very interested in this subject with a CD4 count of 500....and friends with CD4 of 50, or 10! Weight lifting for 54 years has been good as I sense a positive hormonal effect daily. Greens, beta-carotene, GH, seem good but steroids seem bad. What about Thymosin alpha 1 or Thymic humoral factor-gamma 2 for thymic regeneration? So complex ... keep researching!

Interesting and informative, but I'm not sure why you keep saying "thy-a-mus" instead of "thymus." BTW, apoptosis (forced cell death) requires iodine within its process, which is why iodine-deficiency is associated with higher cancer rates, as the US has seen increasingly, since iodine intake has been dropping since c. 1980. This need for iodine is likely the reason _all_ cells have iodine pumps [for pulling iodine into themselves] built into their cell walls.

@deviwangmo
@deviwangmo 26 минут бұрын
@@NilsosmarThat is correct. Lance, a great condensed presentation of overview of the Immune System; however I am also puzzled that you left DHEA out of your summary of the study drug protocol. DHEA is key here, as, along with the Metformin, DHEA counter-intuitively *decreases* the diabetogenic effect of GH - noting that growing children and adolescents, with high functional TES and physiologically high GH don't become hyperinsulinemic or diabetic at least in part because of physiologically high DHEA in the young. DHEA is the Mother of all Hormones. Also, echoing above comment, I too found your repeated mispronunciation of thymus as 'thy-a-mus' ... irritating.
