Thanks for this tutorial SO MUCH!! at my school, now, I can do a whole lap doing this vault over all of the blocks on the track (IDK what they are called, they are just kind of rails that block the first 3 lains) I'm beginning to try it one handed, like I have seen in many videos.

@BrainDeadZombies13 жыл бұрын
When I was taught the reverse vault, my instructor emphasized doing it one handed, even when it's on flatter and wide objects like a small wall. What's the benefit to the one-handed compared to the two handed and vice versa? Whenever I do the one handed I end up landing with a spin that almost causes me to lose my balance.
@protoman210013 жыл бұрын
nice tutorial and for people trying to learn make sure you keep your fingers out wide for the rail vault. I jammed my reverse hand pinky pretty bad one time when i was learning.

@blackbeltjohn6313 жыл бұрын
@6:20 you discuss the two-foot takeoff, and say that if you're putting your right hand down as your "lead" hand, you should have your left leg forward and throw your right over first. Could you not also have your right foot forward, and throw your left over first (behind you, kind of like a hook kick in Taekwondo)?
@Kennethchankanger12 жыл бұрын
Do u need to use a lot of strength to kick up that nicely when u are reverse vaulting? Because I find my legs gawky and not that straight but the way u do is really nice. Especially doing on the floor. super hard for me

Jesse, when you are doing a reverse vault on a rail, how would you place your hands, parallel with your shoulders, directly next to each other, or in between the other two options?

I've noticed people doing a "kick" during the reverse vault, and it actually seems to get them going really fast. One leg is extended during the reverse, and the other is tucked. It's not a full double-leg, but I was wondering how that works out. I'd love to hear about that, your videos are very helpful. Thanks, dude!

@LaFlairParkour I saw something that Daniel Ilabaca said. He said "The message is going to be lost. its all going to be about career and making money" I misunderstood this. He said -its ALL going to be about- You said "I did not start doing parkour because I saw it as a career... " Taking from this, you're not exceeding and/or using parkour the wrong way. How i understand it, you are becoming famous, parkour is helping that, and when you are becoming more famous, you are helping more people.

hmm, for the one hand reverse vault on the rail, could you just do the first step and skip the second? like put one hand down and just jumping over while using that as a support? I used to do it that way, but then again my reverse vaults weren't the best looking ones xD i guess it would just be like a side flip with one arm assisting you.
@ParkerMason5513 жыл бұрын
yeah, i have a question that i hope you might be able to answer. i have trouble with flinging my legs around with any trick. especially cartwheels, it hurts my joints where my hips and legs meet. maybe im not stretching well enough. maybe i need more muscle support there. but yeah if you have any tips about that it would be much apretiated if you could shar your advice with me.

I've used a mixed grip going over a rail, one hand over and one hand under, and I turn clockwise. Sitting here I don't have a rail of course haha but I think i put my left hand over, right under, and lift the right as I go over, and the left turns over.

@LaFlairParkour I thought you'd like to hear this. The first day my friend and I started learning parkour vaults we had no idea where to start and we were worried that trying a monkey vault would leave us face planting lol. So we worked on precisions and I randomly decided to do a made up vault over a rail. My friend thought it looked cool so I showed him what I did and we practiced it. A week later I found out that it was an actual vault, the reverse vault haha. Nice video though man keep it up

Okay I have tried and tried but this is just not working. How good must your spine be in order to pull off a reverse? I'm 1 year post op scoliosis surgery and since then my parkour has been weaker. If my back isn't cut out for it, should I just put this off for a year and see what happens then?

@StrayaKunt10 жыл бұрын
Yea man start now. If you practice a lot by the time your 16 you will be extremely good.
@MrVindictus110 жыл бұрын
Start, perfect age. God, if I could turn back time I would fix so many things in my life and the very first thing would be to start training at the age of 12, maximum. Build technique, steenght can raise together with your age. Your body is young and still adapts a lot easier than an adults. I wish you the best of luck and may the later generation of mankind all use their bodys for more than wake up, take the bus to work and back and stare at everyone and think "wtf is he doing?" who's just running by
