I own a 2024 CT5 Blackwing with a 6 speed. No matter how one tries to convey the speed of modern fast cars the reality can’t come through on KZbin. For instance, I grew up driving my brother’s MG’s, Triumphs and then BMW in the 1970’s. They were easy to wring out because they were slow. This car is so fast that unless I’m sitting in the NASCAR style upright position I can’t stay in the correct drivers position. My advice to 99% of owners who want to drive safely on back roads is to get the auto. I can’t drive this car quickly with one hand on the steering wheel, it’s too fast.

The problem is that you lose some of the fun by giving up the manual (at least in my opinion). I would rather slow it up just a hair and have a manual than go slightly faster in an automatic. Either way, you're still going plenty fast! I own several Porsches, and I don't go much faster in my 992 GT3 RS (PDK) than I do in my manual 992 GT3, at least on the backroads...cuz you kind of hit the limit of what you can do on the back roads either way. As for this car, I have owned a ZL1 and a ZL1 1LE and I already own a high performance sedan (M3, V8 NA, manual), but I want this CT5-V Blackwing. It will give me a lot of what I had with my two Camaros, and so much more.

@captainamerica9353 I didn't want my extended (1hr) test drive to end. The power is solid across the entire rev range, and handling is better than anything that I've driven (including a 2010 R8). However, it's as comfortable and civilized as my 2016 Taurus SHO when I want it to be. I love my 2023 Mach 1, but the Blackwing made me not want to get back in it to drive home after the test drive!

Beats the new Chinese BMW M5 by far ! (Because all new BMWs are primarily designed for Chinese customer taste). Cadillac CT-5 has sleeker styling, it is lighter, and is equipped with a bolt-rifle manual transmission. Also it sounds awesome thanks to the supercharged V8. And they kept the physical buttons. Nothing else comes close in this market segment for a driving enthusiast !

I grew up with Cadillacs in our family. They were always big, heavy, roomy, luxurious, comfortable, smooth, powerful and quiet with rich smelling leather. While this car is, indeed, impressive it ain’t a true Cadillac. GM should create a separate division for this line up and name it Blackwing.

It's crazy to me that an optioned out Lyriq is coming in at like 60k out the door with incentives. Forget about Acura, forget about Mercedes, nobody accustomed to riding in Bentley or Rolls would feel very out of place riding in this rather brilliant car.
