Pay special attention to the state of the DWR finish, it plays a huge role in allowing the garment to breathe efficiently.

Good review of the jacket, and not to hate or anything but the Alpha SV is not meant for anybody that just wears Arc’teryx casually. This is their toughest jacket that they have (so basically if you go skiing a couple times a year and hike a bit you don’t need that )and it’s the only one still made in Canada which is sick! The reason why it doesn’t have normal pockets but chest pockets instead is because the jacket is meant for people that do Ice or rock climbing since the harness goes around your waist and you could not have access to your pockets if they were there. I don’t own that jacket since I don’t need such a crazy mountaineering piece plus it’s way too expensive. If someone just wants to rock an arc hardshell casually and do some sports with it the beta lt is more than enough for sure and half the price haha!

Thank you for your comment! Actually you told a lot of information that I didn’t know before especially the fact about side pockets is very logical and smart if we look from this perspective! As for the price, indeed it’s very steep and i guess before buying any arc jacket you need to think twice🤔

100%. im a pretty avid skier myself, i have an epic pass and everything. I do back country skiing and that sort of stuff, off and on piste. I got the Sabre SV (the more ski focused version of the Alpha SV basically) same N100d 3L gore tex pro shell as this jacket and everything. I think its worth the 900 dollar price tag personally, since im going to be using it in below freezing temperatures as well as very fast pace movements and the mobility is pretty insane.

Where is the Alpha jacket currently produced? Canada or China?

Alpha SV is the only jacket in Arcteryx line up that is still made in Canada 🇨🇦
@thefl4009 ай бұрын
Nope EU market Alpha’s SV are made in China in their Karian Sports Apparel Com factory, China. The only Alpha SV’s made in Canada are the ones for US/ Can market.

a 900 dollar jacket is already just ridiculous, and then no sidepockets? lmao
@raoulhuisman3461 Жыл бұрын
its because its an mountaineering/climbing jacket and if you wear a harness (which it is designed for) you cant access side pockets

Arcteryx shell jackets are just awesome .... and if you say that the price is a crime .... you just dont get it. I have had my Arcteryx Sidewinder jacket for over 20 years and I just have to say that if you say price/year .... its a bargin !!
