If you're in the United States, never pay sales tax for gold! Gold nuggets, bullion, flakes, fines, etc. is considered currency and you don't need to pay taxes when you purchase it (similar to not having to pay sales tax when you purchase stocks). In most cases Im usually buying paydirt and paydirt is a product. so sometimes it winds up making a big cost difference. especially on the larger bags.
