I purchased two merino t shirts from fjallraven. They are a blend however of 50 poly and 50 merino. Because of there cost of $80 CAD each I won't use a washer or dryer. Just hand wash. I can't say in terms of durability yet but I have fjallraven other products and they are solid. I would rather have 3 merino wool shirts than 12 cotton. But that's just me

Yep, great products from icebreaker. I now own ten of the short sleeve Tech-Lite and one long sleeve. They regulate your body temp in wildly fluctuating temps day to day extremely well and are so comfortable to wear against your skin. They also control body odor better than anything else out there, I love merino and alpaca wool. I bought all my icebreaker t-shirts when they were using their very cool embroidered company logo on the left chest area. Now they all have these really cheesy graphics, they ruined them for me by doing so. I bought one just as they started that trend and I have not bought another since then. I'm glad to have stocked up on the old style t-shirts.

Great follow up, practical, real-life, review! I have a couple products from Icebreaker. I've been happy with their t-shirt, and thermal undergarments, not so much the merino socks they carry. I'm looking into the Nature Dye Drayden T-shirt. (Also, your videos remind me of when I was in the Solomon Islands for a couple months, ahhh, the adventures!)

I buy 3 shirts and rotate them life span for me is about 18 months for active use for the 3 shirts after that they start to stretch, get holes and hold body odour. I prefer Tech lite to Cool light but i still buy both. I also have 4 zip jackets when i see a sale i have to buy even though i dont need :)

thanks. Ive been wondering this since icebreaker (and about anything available in USA) is much thinner looking than most of my merino clothes.. Except for my underwear, but those are still too new to really know, I just love wool and took a chance on a few. I mostly get my wools from NZ or AU on holiday sales or local thrift stores. I have a lot of wool. I wear wools all year. The prices are hard to justify if you have not NEEDED its properties enough to know the difference. I am out of a backpack a lot though and it really helps, especially if you have to put something worn back into the pack. I once alternated two wool tees worn for several days without washing, for over three months before I just gave up. I only washed them because it had been months and I was beyond sold on the anti stink, not because they smelled. If they do smell, its because I am wearing it, and sweating at that moment. It was me, not the shirt; it was wicking off and evaporating but something about the wool neutralizes it afterwards. 10 minutes later you can take it off, bunch it up and not smell anything but hair. To me wool smells like a faint version of a barber shop or hair salon, and pretty mild/ neutral. Topload washers, washing with denim, velcro or hard items really takes a toll.. So does most commercial detergents. Hearing it goes through a regular wash routinely, says something. Merino is not as tough as other wools (shorter fiber and finer diameter). However, it seems to outlast cotton of the same thread sizes.

Stink and heat are the positives of icebreaker. Don't expect the basic products to keep U warm. I warm wash and tumble dry after each wear (I cycle 3 shirts) twice a week and they last about 1 to 1.5 years max

Hi Adam, may I ask what percentage of merino wool in this garment fabric?
@adamconstanza4 жыл бұрын
Good question. I actually have no idea but if I can find out I'll get back to you.
@albertye41464 жыл бұрын
@@adamconstanza Maybe you can check the washed label inside your garment.I check your part 1 review of this shirt,you mentioned that it's 65% wool. I really like icebreaker and I have more than two dozen garments icebreaker. The interesting thing is that icebreaker seems like changed their cool lite fabric from 65%wool to 52%wool the weight of the fabric changed from 150g to 130g as well.

Great shirts but stopped buying about a year ago. They used to have good looking graphics and prints on their shirts. Past couple years has been lame and they also used to have a great navy blue that they traded for a midnight navy (pretty close to black). Anyway, I’m not the only one. Several friends of mine have been looking elsewhere because most of the graphics haven’t been great. Maybe be bring back some of the older designs and market them as Icebreaker retro or something. Shame because icebreaker shirts have a great fit. Been a customer for a decade.
@adamconstanza Жыл бұрын
Agree, personally I'm not a big fan of the graphics on their t shirts and usually opt for a plain t shirt instead.
