3:47 if you like a small tactile bump, go with the pewters or cotton candy switches, don't say cherry MX brown or blue. (gateron are MX compatible and are referred to as the same name.) The market is very much not for the average consumer but for a keyboard enthusiast or hobbyist, so do not buy it because the features you most likely will find overkill, I mean, who would ever hot swap out for blue switches?!
@onionring1531 Жыл бұрын
Blue switches are only for people who grew up using type writers or skinning people and wearing their skin like a suit.

I never got it straight as to which key switches are the hardest to push. I grew up pounding typewriters and I was fastest on the IBM Selectric. In fact, I worked for IBM repairing Selectrics at one time. I was fast because the keyboard gave the best physical feedback. I want a mechanical keyboard with the greatest resistance (hardest) to push but I can't understand, for sure, which key switches will get me closest to the feel of a Selectric. Which (color?) switches give the most resistance to typing please?

Great video. Are macros depended on VIA software or it is recorded into firmware?
@chrom4ful2 жыл бұрын
they're stored on the keyboard itself, all settings carried over if you plug it into new device, that's how VIA work

I've never understood why people enjoy noisy keyboards.
@desmond-hawkins2 жыл бұрын
Have you ever typed on a mechanical keyboard? It really makes a huge difference when you type. I also never understood it until I got my first mechanical keyboard. I started with brown switches which is a great introduction to mechanical keyboards, then tried blue clicky switches later and never went back to tactile. With noise-canceling headphones and working from home, the noise doesn't bother me or anyone else. There's also Unclack on Mac, a free app that mutes your mic while you type so you can take notes in meetings without anyone hearing the clicky noise.
@KingTode2 жыл бұрын
Same. I first got the Keychron K1 with Blues but they were just way too clicky. I watched some videos online and I've come to love the sound of a more muted tocky key. So I sold my K1 and got a K3 with Optical Browns. To me it just sounds so much more satisfying and not annoying in any way

I made the mistake of buying a Keychron K7. What I received was NOT wireless (no dongle included) and, when connected by USB cable, many keys did not work. When I asked Keychron for an RMA, they demanded that I send them a video proving that I had not falsified the results of their keyboard test. Keychron has ignored all my subsequent requests for an RMA and a refund. There are many reputable companies making keyboards. Before buying anything from Keychron, think! Do you want to give your money to a company that treats its customers this way?
