I have a Notorious, I bought it second hand so I don't know the history but the 1st time I ran it through a puddle the stock Arrma steering servo died. I bought an actual waterproof servo and been fine ever since. Other than that I'm very happy and impressed.

A lot of the reasons for giving the Kraton a higher score than the Outcast were based on random manufacturing or assembly issues. Many people have received Kraton's with issues and Outcast's without issues. Regardless, I greatly appreciate your videos.

Your reviews are why I got back into RC by picking up a Kraton. Was a V1 though, V2 got released not even a few weeks after getting mine lol. Have had it for over a year with no issues til a few weeks ago when the ESC went up in smoke taking out the RX too. They were pretty good about getting my the new ESC, but I'm still waiting on the new radio. And I did get a set of Backflips to try out, can't wait. When I first got it, I went to my LHS, they looked at me like I was crazy when I said "ARRMA". They had never heard of it. Went back there last weekend, now they've got nearly as much ARRMA as they do Traxxas. Didn't see small parts though, but Tower is like a 1 hour drive for me, so I get orders quick (if it's in stock)

I've had a Typhon for about 2 years, and I absolutely love it. I run 6s 20t pinion, it's incredibly fast, so fast I barely ever go full throttle. Although I've had to replace the stock servo twice, both times the warranty covered it. Arrma's excellent customer sent me a new one with no problem. My warranty is up now, if this 3rd stock servo blows I will be replacing it with an aftermarket one. Still I will only buy Arrma vehicles as I think they are the most bang for your buck, and everything is top quality.

Hey man, love your vids. I have something to add to the issue with wheels not coming off from the factory. The problem actually is the nut displaces a small amount of plastic into the threads when they're tightened for the 1st time. Maybe they tighten them too tight, who knows. Here's my solution that works with no pulling, yanking, cursing or sweating. Take the nut off then get a good sharp hobby knife and carefully trim off the little bit of plastic thats pushed into the threads of the wheel hex. The wheel will then come right off with ease.

Why would anybody do that (if it is a 2.0). The Arrmas are primitiv cars that need upgrade-chassis and braces out of the box and do not even gog covered cogwheels. Also, the E-Revo got a much higher value-stability. They sell the old model still for 500 and people buy it. See Kevin Talbots Video where the transmission box of a Kraton literally exploded on a super small jump. This Arrma stuff is a hype.

Vas I like the review... while I do love my outcast, especially on 6s and I admittedly haven't driven a Kraton V2 yet, I do believe there is a difference between the two. My biggest gripe with the outcast is the fact that I've broken something on every run I've had so far... Front A arm, Servo, Center Diff.... and I'm not really getting a chance to bash it like you do on your vids. I'll take it as some of it as bad luck and poor driver skills on my part, but I still think the outcast is a beast that brings me smiles when I'm able to get it running for a whole pack and doing crazy stuff. I would like to see something from you on where both the outcast and kraton v2 can be sort of blended where the outcast can race and run laps with your buddies and the Kraton can be made into a stunt truck... that would be a really cool vid I would mash the thumbs button for! Just food for thought!

Couldn't agree more with your review. I have both, loooove the outcast, but I'll put the kraton against anything out today. The only thing Arrma can improve on, I feel, is beef up the shocks: I'm bending shock rods and breaking shock rod ends a lot. And the wing mounts break. But that's to be expected with the bashing!! But definitely beef up the shocks. Anyway, another awesome video! Thanks for posting.

Makes no sense to give the Outcast a 4/5 for maintenance based on the balance lead holder. You don't have to use this feature if you don't want to, and it isn't a maintenance item to begin with...aside from that, excellent, informative video as always!!

Thanks Vas - makes sense...I think this points out that very few issues exist with these things and you have to get pretty picky to find a flaw. Arrma has been very impressive over the past couple years. Props to you for having by far the best, most unbiased, and comprehensive reviews of anyone anywhere - much appreciated - please keep it up! By the way, I would love to see you launch a new 8S X-Maxx over those jumps - and then watch the ESC die half way through the run...yes, the new 8S versions are still burning up, I'm on my 3rd one now, Traxxas should be ashamed of their pathetic attempt at yet another epic failure in ESC design, moving to the Max 6 next...

Nice one Vas, spot on review. I have the Outcast and absolutely love it. As you mentioned I to have had an issue with the pinion, 2 teeth disappeared on its second run?? What's with that? Other than that the truck is just a beast. Agreed it's not perfect but so much fun that you forget all that. One burst of 6S power and everything is forgiven. As for the body/style I think it's unique and one of the better looking bodies/MT out there, sometimes less is more.
@craigschofield647 жыл бұрын
Great Job Vas! I personally glad you did a comparison/review of both of these trucks side by side in the same vid. I learned a lot about both actually, I do have a question about the Kraton V2 steering....Has Arrma replaced the steering bushings with bearings in the V2 version? My biggest complaint about the Kraton V1 was the steering...the V1 was the steering "Slop" and "flex" in the system combined that with the servo that (imo) is the weak servo for the size of the truck and the tires. I have to agree that the stock servo is very dependable (but weak imo) I don't have the V2 version because I upgraded my V1 and basically built a V2+ version before they even came out with the V2 version...lol I have had my V1 since right after your review of the V1 and I bought it based solely on your review. Out of all the trucks, buggies, and car Rc's I have owned my all time favorite vehicle has been my Kraton V1! I still have not broken anything on it, I only have had to replace some steering rod ends because they plain wore out and kept popping off. I beat the snot out of my truck and taken some crazy high jumps and I have cart wheeled the truck at plus 70mph several times and the only damage has been to the body, and the truck still sports the original A arms.....But of course the original electrics were replaced a day or so after I got the truck with a MM2 system (my go to for all my bashers). However I did run the original esc for almost 3 years in a 1/8 scale buggy before it finally blew, I was one of the lucky guys who got a "good one" but imo the original esc's Arrma put in the Kratons could not handle the weight of the truck was their biggest issue with the original electronics. I say that because I ran only two packs through mine in the V1 before swapping it into a much lighter vehicle and it ran 6S for nearly 3 years without any issues and I think it would be still going had I not abused it as much as I did, but I figure it was basically a free esc because I ordered my mm2 system the same day I bought the truck...I never intended to use the V1 electronics had I been able to buy a roller I would have, so really the electronics were a bonus in the first place. 😁 I had already moded my servo mount in the V1 Kraton with a set of Traxxas aluminum A frame servo mounts before GKA came out with their aluminum servo mount but I do have the GKA servo mount in my Senton and I love it. That one mod made the biggest improvement in both the Kraton and Senton of any other upgrade I made to the Rc's besides the electronics. well I know I am a long wind old fart so I will end it here because I could go on forever...lol take care my friend and again Awesome video....your hard work shows in every vid!Thank you😊

My servo in my V2 outcast I got 2 weeks ago didn't make it from my workbench to the first turn when running it. I threw RPM arms on it, RPM front bumper, checked all visible bolts for tightness, threw on a set of proline trencher 3.8's, put in a pair of 2S SMC 7400mah packs, set up the EPA for my aftermarket remote/receiver, took it outside, drove an an easy straight line, went to turn around and the servo just screamed at me as the truck veered off and rolled into a fence. Replaced it the next day with a savox 1210sg. Have since regeared it, shimmed the diffs with Mugen internal/kyosho ring gear shims, replaced diff bearings with rubber sealed and use 100k/500k/100k oil. Also got a motor fan, put in a tower to tower brace, t-bone wheelie bar/skid and drove the crap out of it. Replaced 1/3 of the shock oil worth 2000wt and front shock ends with some dubro super duty ends. Have run full packs through it probably 15-20 times already. Been a fun 14 days so far.

Speaking of Arrma BLX steering servos, my Granite 3s servo lasted about 20 battery packs. The motor just died. It lasted about 3 packs longer than my plastic rear diff did. Got 2 replacement metal diffs, a steel spur and a 35kg servo, and it drives better than ever. Plus, the UpgradeRC brand tires from Amain Hobby are only about 100 times better than crappy DBoots Fortress MT tires.

I know we have fast forwarded to 2021 with new versions with updated differences but I figure they're mostly similar at least in comparison. I thought I was sold on the Notorious/Outcast for stunts as it's a stunt truck and I've seen yours and others' videos, but from this video, it sounds like the Kraton can do everything the Outcast can do, but all categories are 5/5.
@AussieRCPlayground3 жыл бұрын
The first OutCast needed a slight tune in the diffs and suspension, which has been addressed since then by ARRMA. The Kraton got a better score because it had already seen some revisions, while the OutCast was only new and needed some tweaks. Kraton can do everything the OutCast can, but it would need the same tweaks the OutCast needed back then to do that. But even so, the longer chassis would still make it a different beast no mater how you cut it, it will always handle somewhat different.
@Funcentric3 жыл бұрын
@@AussieRCPlayground Thanks for getting back to me! If I'm understanding you right, the current Outcast has gone through more revisions than the current Kraton and therefore at least at this moment in time, the Outcast is more "developed" shall we say? I'm a bit off a wannabe wheelie junky so maybe the shorter wheelbase would be better for me. I can't get over how the Kraton looks - it looks great! My concern was always the mud guard tub chassis on the Kraton doesn't go all the way around, particularly the rear. Has that been a problem as far as exposure to debris and elements?
@AussieRCPlayground3 жыл бұрын
No. Having it open at the rear means that any debris that gets in the chassis simply falls out the back. It's designed this way for that purpose. 😉

1st off I enjoy your videos. I am interested in getting my 1st R/C in many years. For a couple years now I wanted a Summit. I liked the 2-speed transmission, how the shocks were designed and the locking diffs, in that order. Been doing a lot of research and I was instead leaning towards an Outcast but I think the Kraton is more for me. I guess the V3 comes put soon. My question is: does the Arrma (Talion, Krayton, Outcast) utilize a slipper clutch? Or is that done away with for a center differential? I don't want to wheelie all the time when stomping on the throttle. I don't want all that power transferred to the front wheels. What I really want to know is: Can I put a slipper clutch in the driveline, just for the rear end?
@thatmarred_mustang3 жыл бұрын
Uses a center diff, but if you don't want wheelies or ballooning then the summit is probably more for you. These cars a re high speed bashers, the Summit is a rock crawler.

That brand has sued companies for "copying" things they didn't invent. They have gone after KZbinrs to strike their channel whenever they get criticised on their products or if they just don't like what has been said or shown. That brand is arrogant, self centered and just a big bully to other brands and its users. Therefore, I will never buy or review another one of their products, nor will ever even mention their name again on the channel. I have also sold ever RC I owned from that brand, so I no longer own any of it. I've had several RCs from them in the past, but because of their poor attitude and lack of updates and improvements to their older cars, I will not review any of their products again. I am considering after only 2 weeks of having it to simply upgrade to the 6s kraton. It seems to be all my upgrades done already therefore cheaper since most upgrades have to come from the USA for 4s kraton. I went with the 4s because it was not as fast as the 6s having not driven or bought an rc in 30 years. Just wondering your thoughts from an 4s to 6s kraton?

Whats the most durable rc out? Rc dude 81 said the aarma mojave is the toughest out of the box and more durable than some of his heavily modded arrma rc trucks. What the toughest arrma truck in your opinion? Thanks alot

I run my e revo on taller grass. I want to sell it and I am stuck between a 2018 arrma or the new losi lst 3xl-e. Which one is the best one to get for my situation?

I would guess that Kraton is best for offroad and grass

you convinced me to buy a DHK Maxims now you are convincing me to buy an Arm Kraton!! :) Lol Nice video it helped me decide a lot!

Interesting.... I'm trying to decide between the Maximus, Kraton and outcast. So you must have the Kraton and Maximus by now. Which one should I get? I am attracted to how the parts should be cheaper on the Maximus.... But the way that Kraton runs...... 👍 Thoughts?

Great vid mate, love your work! Do have a question for you though, you mentioned that the Outcast tyres are bigger than the Badlands... I've been trying to decide on some grippier basher Tyres for my Kraton, bought some Badlands online and turns out they're smaller than I had thought. Is it possible for you to send me a couple comparison pics between the sizes of the tyres on the Kraton and Outcast, and the Badlands? Been having trouble finding some in shops to see first hand. Cheers!

+Matt Seckold I do some comparisons in my OutCast unboxing, so hopefully you'll get your answer there. kzbin.info/www/bejne/omfIp6F-nJagnck
