First time I saw Marillion was on this tour, wore the tshirt until it fell apart, I think it was at the Astoria in London. I remember the boo boys shouting for Fish, they were very quiet by the end, SH was fantastic.

Bell... and The Release are two fantastic songs that I would have loved to have heard with a real production. I didn't think this remix was much to write home about.

Great review. Pete nailed it when he talked about the little details. That is why Marillion has such replay-ability. There is so much going on in there. Play it "Loud with the lights off".

I wish they hadn't stopped including the B-sides and extras on a separate CD. Seems like EMI is cheaping out. It isn't that big a deal since I have the earlier 2CD reissue, but I feel these should be "definitive" versions and include everything.

I wish all of them would include the original mixes as well. I think only Brave, AOS and CAS has the original mixes. The CAS one has it on the BD and not on CDs, unlike the other two. Overall, the eight box sets released are very inconsistent.

I have always been a fish-era Marillion fan, bought Season's End and decided I hated Steve Hogarth's voice and never listened to any other albums. One night a few months ago when bored I came across a concert on TV "All One Tonight" and thought "His voice isn't that bad and I enjoyed songs like "Easter" and Afraid Of Sunlight" and am now investigating their post-Fish albums. Season's End is, up to now my fav post-fish album. Amazing music from an amazing band.

I only started listening to the post Fish albums a few weeks ago and I am listening to all the albums but it takes a while to get to know and judge them and as I said, of the ones I have listened to up to now Season's End is my favourite, it might not be when I know them all but up to now it is :)

@@colbefc Glad I could be a little help, that's what this channel is all about, spreading the love of music & discovering something new. Marbles is an absolute masterpiece, although I will say the Hogarth era definitely takes much more patience than the Fish era, with Fish it's instantly catchy, with Hogarth it's a different approach to song writing & takes a few spins to understand. "Ocean Cloud" "The invisible man" & "Neverland" from Marbles are absolutely gorgeous. Enjoy 👍

When the album came out, I admittedly was a bit disappointed because I had expected something different, but H is not Fish, and so on. Also, it wasn't an album like the previous two. However, I was able to get the EMI promotional thing at the record store. Marillion freaks were laughed at anyway, "yeah, just take it." It was a bent cardboard with the waves held by a transparent plastic, on which the four element pictures were displayed, basically the album cover in 3D. It was part of my room for years until I moved out. The album is still a part of my life...

Very enjoyable review you two! Good that you spent over half an hour on this album reissue 👍My copy arrived just the other day and I am yet to give it a listen but certainly looking forward to it. The title track for me is one of the all time great songs and I feel the same way as Pete does about it it is very powerful and emotional. I now own four of these sets and wished I`d bought `Misplaced` and `Clutching`. Oh well you can`t have everything. Don`t think they will but when they release this on a single album vinyl I would love it to be with the original artwork.

Can't staaaaaaaaaaand Hooks in You! No matter what remix or remastering! I abhor it! When the 1st remaster collection came out, I took HiY out, extracted The Release and The Bell in the Sea*, and burned my own copy of the album with those instead. I even redid the artwork of the back cover of the CD to include the new track list! *though the fade out ending during Rothery's solo breaks my heart, it is still a great song.

Season's End is my favorite "H" Marillion disc. However, this is the point of Marillion's descent into mediocrity, just as Duke started Genesis downward spiral. For me, the last good Marillion disc was "Brave". You almost make me want to get this "Deluxe Edition", but I will use that money for another band's new disc.

It seems very silly, however I believe it is a requirement in certain markets to have the recommended age on all videos on the front of the box. Making a separate batch for these countries only would be expensive.

Yes, Clutching... was the last studio album with Fish. Between that one and Seasons end there was a live album, The thieving magpie with Fish singing.

Seasons End isn't the best Marillion album but Seasons End is one of the best Marillion songs.

The surround sound isn't great, even with the back speakers turned up you can hardly hear anything coming from them, I wondered if they were actually working. The other stuffs nice but disappointed overall.

Yea, I was hoping for the complete slew of b-sides, alt-mixes and bonus tracks myself. I guess I'll have to hang onto that 2cd set still. It also bugs me, on all the sets, that all the bonus tracks are on the blu-ray and not the cds.
