I know this is an older video but I just wanted to agree with you on the application of these pastels. I too find this color palette the best of any pastel set. They remind me of the 36 Mungyo water-soluble crayon palette. It took me awhile to figure out how to use these but I use some quite a bit and I find that they transfer less to the opposite sheet then do the artist grade pastels. Therefore I don't have to use as much Spectrafix. By the way, you are an amazing portrait artist! Thanks for reviewing student grade products because not all of us can afford the expensive ones.

Thank you SO much for reviewing these oil pastels. It's hard to find reviews of these. I think these could be a great substitute for Pentel oil pastels. Pentel changed the formula and now their oil pastels smell strongly of gasoline, so I won't buy them. I've been considering the Mungyos as a low-cost stiffer pastel for base layers, so the softer Gallery oil pastels can go over the top. Your review convinced me to buy them! Thanks again.

Hello, 😊 I definitely agree about the Pentel oil pastels, I have them and they smell horrible 🐱

I really appreciate your honesty and dedication to provide your viewers with your real experience. I was confused in between these two as it both was lebbeled as artists' colors.

Thanks a lot of this video. I just hope I had seen it before I bought this set - for 24€! My country (Finland) is so expensive. I actually made a mistake with these, I thought I would get the pro pastels… the Gallery costs 55€ here of 48 pieces. Byt anyway. I must just deal with these now. You have some really good tips in this video, I appreciate this review.

Hi may I ask what did you use to stop the oil pastel artworks smudging on the previous paper?
@gabriellaritaart2 жыл бұрын
I always use three coats of fixative spray on top of any pastel art and I only use one side of each paper sheet to avoid smudging.

I saw there written 'for artists' on both two type of mungyo oil pastels.I can't decide which one is artist grade and how can I understand that
@gabriellaritaart2 жыл бұрын
The one with the light blue box is the student grade. It only says "for artists". The artist grade has Mungyo Gallery Soft Oil Pastels written on it and has a dark packing.
