Pretty nice review. Do the same with other machines, highly detailed review

That dryer next to it was the exact same model as my grandparents had in the 90s :)

Thanks for review. Just wish I seen it before I paid £120 for this. Came today. Takes ages to heat up. Turning it on anti clock wise for the heat setting did make a small difference I was turning it the other way so thanks for that tip. It will be a nightmare to send back with all the cardboard and bubble wrap it came in and expensive so I'll just keep it. Luckily I don't need to use it that often

Possibly why it is crap ~ looked at the electrical schematic and the heater is labelled “PTC heater” - PTC = positive thermal coefficient, or simply a ceramic heater element, these throttle themselves when they get hot and reduce the power consumption ~ and recently, heater fans now have this “efficient” element in them, as the “traditional” resistive nichrome wire element has been demonised for being inefficient.

Clearly though it's not more efficient as it's just as energy consuming as a traditional coil heater. Instead it just takes longer to dry.

@@whichwasher2007 - also I would consider that tumble dryer as an example of Chineseum crap/a polished turd, and would not buy it for being cheap and rubbish. I would go for the vintage CREDA debonair “next to it” as it has a traditional heater, and is vented out the door ~ [summer] I would fit the duct and hang out of a window, [winter] I would remove the duct and have it vent into my kitchen and save on heating & humidifying my house, used in conjunction with a dehumidifier so it doesn’t become too humid ⚠️, a condenser dryer which will heat the room it is in & make water which I could possibly reuse, or a more modern heat-pump dryer

These take far too long to dry, used to use one of these and a decent sized dark load wash on a cotton program at 1600 took around 2hours and abit usually

Where does the moisture go? Is there no hose?

Do you suggest any only small dryer? Ideally no wider then 52cm

Yes the Indesit NIS41V. Full 4kg load done in 70 minutes.
