From a firefighter very intelligent ideas and your video was a pleasure to watch.

Thanks. I talked to my nephews (2) who are firefighters when designing the system

Mr. Palmer, your video inspired me to assemble my own water trailer. I chose the same pump, installed at the rear of a King Kutter trailer. I used a 275 gallon IBC, some Banjo Wye Strainer, Cam & Groove fittings, Ferguson ball valves, suction hose and other fittings from McMaster, 1-1/2” fire hose and reel from Rawhide, and a Cox Reel with 100’ of 3/4” hose. Full of water, the trailer will weigh roughly 3,500 lbs. I’ll use a Heavy Hitch with ball mount to tow with my LX2610. Fingers crossed, I hope to fill it up and try it out before July 4.

Great, I think you are right to want to have it ready by July 4. I have mine reassembled (after winter) and full of water but I have not gassed her up and run it so far. I wonder if there is a way to add a picture to a comment, my Cox Reel arrived after I made the video.

As a wildland firefighter I think your pump choice is excellent. Most small pumps fall way short of 20 gpm at 110psi. That performance is needed to effectively cool a fire and penetrate into the material.

Thanks for watching and commenting. Luckily I have not been able to use it on a fire, but it works very well watering trees also (at a fast idle and diverting much of the water back into the tank).

Have you taken delivery? What sort of system did you put together?
