I just bought one of these. The fact that it doesn't have a trigger lock so you can walk away is just stupid. It worked well for me today though. I just wrapped a wire around the trigger. It doesn't pump up car tires as fast as one of my 12 volt pumps, but you don't have to pop the hood to clip the power leads onto the battery. The auto shutoff is nice.

The brass part is a schrader to presta adapter so you can connect the schrader chuck (on the inflator) to a presta valve - usually used on high pressure bicycle tires

noseknows, is it possible to use this as a blower when using the black plastic attachment (what I mean is, is it possible to get it to blow air without being attached to anything, without pressure applied to the nozzle ?). Buyaparcel have this on ebay for £56.91 and I'm curious if it could be used as a duster for cleaning PC's/Laptops. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Makita, please release an updated version with auto mode. Holding that trigger makes no sense. Milwaukee released a similar product allowing automated operation. It can't be too complicated. #makita

Hey Jeremija - Yeah I agree it would be nice for the DMP180Z Makita to have a auto fill mode. It does auto cut off when pressure is reached but yes the trigger has to be pushed to operate.

Thanks for this review. Very helpful. Just wondering, would you happen to know if it reads as low as 1psi or 2psi? I was looking at buying it for my inflatable boat (which has a large air volume, but tiny maximum pressure rating (2psi). I just can't find anywhere what the minimum pressure readout is for this inflator.

Hey - I can test for low pressure measure but honestly wouldn’t use for long running inflation. I have used it on child’s inflatable pool and it started cutting out and hasn’t been the same since.
