Excellent, yes .. after years of patching my family's seal-coated road, I now sprinkle some paver's sand on top of the sticky patch, it eventually wears off and leaves a nice cured area underneath .. in a couple of months.

The next time I use it, I will definitely use the paver sand.

Hey man, a suggestion to enhance the adhesion and curing strength, one week after you use QPR, reseal the entire driveway. It’ll increase the binding property of the patch because of how course QPR is, and thank you for your service
@HowtoandReviewsOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I appreciate it. I will point out that QPR says not to seal it for 6 months, but I’m definitely not saying I disagree with you. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for this resealing information, I'm going to wait a week.
@reaper-sz5tm2 жыл бұрын
@@JT-qe4pm it works well. I redid my moms driveway this way as a 5 year patch. My driveway guy wanted $2,200 to patch and seal, I did it for 400 and it’s held up perfectly

Great video, I like how you use the plywood to level out the pot hole and drive over it after installation.

Thanks! I was not in the instructions, so it’s not technically required, but I felt better about doing it.

Great Video ! I used this once on a well demarcated utility cut through. It never did cure and has gradually worn away leaving a scalloped shaped depression. I will probably try Aquaphalt next. Cheers...

Does the QRP come with the tamper?
@HowtoandReviewsOfficial Жыл бұрын
It doesn’t come with a tamper. Just the bag of product. I got a cheap tamper from harbor freight tools for $30 and it did the job.

I spent all day cutting out 4 inches of asphalt at the front of my driveway. Over the years the driveway sunk at the threshold. I now have a square edge and a 3 inch deep trench ready for qpr. Got to take out the loose stuff then it's fill time. I even bought a 4x4 to use as a tamper since the hole is too narrow for an 8 inch iron. Going to sleep well tonight! BTW, to avoid ruining my good Dewalt saw, I bought a $50 Skil circular saw and a $7 diamond masonry blade. Figured the dust is going to ruin the motor. But it held up and I cut the asphalt 2 inches deep across a double width garage. 24 feet. Glad I kept the knee pads from my flooring project! Anyway, your job looks good but I would have cut a lip around the edge for the QPR to blend in. Might keep the stuff contained during tamping too.

A square cut vertical edge) is definitely ideal for this product. I hope it goes well!
@starpartyguy56052 жыл бұрын
I’m on layer 3. Using 5 foot 4x4. You can hear and feel a change in resistance when it is solid. The wood crushes the gravel in the mix, leaving a white dust where you hit it. The 8 inch tamper doesn’t do that but does make a smoother transition. And there should be a warning on the bags. This product only goes half as far as you think!

Thanks! 1980 CJ5. It probably wasn’t the best vehicle to use for this specific video. Those large tires just didn’t show how severe/jarring that dip was in a normal car. Oh well. It’s more fun to drive.

Sorry to hear that. Thanks for sharing! My patches worked out well for me, but I recently got the whole driveway recovered. There were a lot of dips and ruts.

Sprinkle pavers sand on top of it,it's suppose to cure it a whole lot quicker...
@nickka20092 жыл бұрын
great. why didn't just leave plywood completely over it for 6 months?
@HowtoandReviewsOfficial2 жыл бұрын
I filled about 10 dips and I get a lot of traffic. Plywood all over the driveway is not ideal. Also, it is ready to drive on immediately. Just don’t walk in it for a few days.

I believe it was $13 for the 50 pound bag when I bought it. I just checked the Lowe’s website and it is currently $17.88 for the bag where I live. The price likely varies depending on where you live.
