Review of SEVEN Entry Level Electric Violins

If you're a first time electric violin buyer, this video may be for you. We'll play and discuss seven different instruments that are commonly bought by people just getting started with electric instruments.
You'll get to hear each of the instruments, learn what they come with (case? bow?) and we'll give a couple of tips for figuring out what it costs to get one shipped to you if you're outside the lower 48 states in the US.

FWIW, as an adult beginner, I found that practicing with my YEV without any effects actually helped with improving my tone on my acoustic violin.

Interesting! Why do you think that is?

@@macleadg because the solid body E-violin picks up every single scratch or scrape that the acoustic tends to even out with it’s internal resonance as long as you play the E-violin through a clean audio channel with no effects applied. This will produce a typical piezo squak but aside from that, the bow noises come through loud and clear… IMHO

Hello, just a quick question about amps which is slightly unrelated: For an acoustic viola with a KNA pickup would you recommend a Boss Street Cube 2 amp? I’m looking at that one, the Fishman mini, and a few others. I’m mainly looking for something for busking in an outdoor setting so I don’t need anything loud enough for a rock or metal gig, but I still do need some noise. Also battery power is ideal and the lighter the better. Thank you so much for your help!

It's not a bad amp. The Fishman Mini and the Bose S1 Pro are also excellent. They all sound different, but they all sound good.
