Fit and finish on the Shad SH-50 top case on my Yamaha Tmax 500

There’s also a lower passenger backrest available that goes under the included one right over the black colored corrugated area that continues the silver side bands around the front. Apparently it fills the need for a lumbar support since some have complained the current backrest sits too high. The only issue with adding the lumbar one is that when you open the lid to near its upper limit, the two backrest pads meet and stop the lid from opening any further and left alone without holding it then shuts itself.

Yes, the rack can hold a lot more weight than what they recommend. The case is super strong too.

You unlock the latch and pull it down "all the way" and it lifts off.

Does it come in all flat black without the silver accents? I like that you pointed out how high the sides come up, I think that is notable.

Haven't had to do that yet. I let the engine do the braking for me, as I never ride that hard where I need to grab a lot of brake all the time.

I don't know of the top of my head. Try googling the Shad home page. I believe it's big enough for two helmets.

20" maybe. You can get two full sized full face helmets in it.

Thanks. I ride around the city and as such I brake often and need to do my brakes. You video on the variator was a life saver as I had to replace my variator due to poor maintenance from Peter Stevens (Motorcycles in Geelong Australia . Thanks much appreciated

The top case fits on Shads mounting bracket. You would have to do a google search to see if they make a mounting bracket for the Smax. The Shad site says that the 50 can be mounted on your scooter, but you should check for yourself.
