I bought the 7000TL from Costco when it went on sale. Followed manufacturer's instructions to put it together so all good and no leaks. Comes in handy when swapping out summer/winter tires on multiple cars as I only have to lift once to change all four tires. Also great for doing brake jobs or suspension work. Now it takes some time initially to figure out proper location of jacks and lift points as well as what blocks to use for each car, but once you find what works it's quicker the next time around as long as you record things. I record distance of jack from front tire and blocks used for each vehicle. Honestly I am super cautious so I still would use jacks if I need to get under the vehicle. I want to mention I was able to lift my 2nd gen MDX with running boards without the frame extensions or truck adapters but I wouldn't do that again as the blocks were tilting as the jack was lifting and it didn't look stable. Some people say to put car in neutral with emergency brake off when lifting but I don't think that's wise. I may have to get the truck adapters and possibly the frame extensions. If anyone has lifted a 2nd gen MDX with ruuning boards using with 7000TL I'd be interested in hearing your experience.

Nice. I think I’m gunna buy this jack and spacers. I’m a mechanic and worked at a family shop for years. We’re closing our shop and have plans for something else so we sold our lifts. I def need something to use at home to work on the family’s personal vehicles maintenance. This looks awesome, and a better option then getting something permanent and spending tons for installation.

It's honestly been a great setup to have at home! I still use mine all the time...just put it through the paces on Saturday. Had 4 SUVs up and down for various things and still works great with no issues at all! Definitely worth looking getting them...you won't regret it, I think

I realized you posted this a while ago but you could also use a pinch weld block on top of the SUV pad so that it envelops the pinch weld and gives you positive contact on the entire pinch weld. Otherwise it looked great.

Believe it or not, I tried this. 100% would not recommend. My pinch weld blocks held on very well, and seems to work well with smaller, lighter vehicles with the standard, included lifts. But when I used it on my bigger SUV, the pinch weld block became unstable sitting on the SUV lifts. I think the top heavy nature of the SUV doesn't help at all. I really felt like the vehicle could fall at any moment. Great idea!! I was definitely on the same page as you. But it was iffy

Thanks for the review of the SUV lifts. I will get them instead of using blocks of wood. The stability and sturdiness of the QJ is front to back. However, the fail point (basic engineering/physics) is side to side. Not that side to side can occur easily, but you can see that the hinges can fail on a violent side to side movement. Lastly, NEVER use these on uneven surfaces. Used mine on a buddy's 4-door sedan on his driveway that was bowed. See-saw action occurred as we were replacing the fuel pump and dropping with the fuel tank. We should have stabilized it with a floor jack or jack stands, but we just took it more easy with the wrenches when we saw the car rocking back and forth.

Absolutely. The SUV lifts definitely add stability. I've used them on F150s, Tahoes, a lifted Jeep Cherokee, and more, and it has worked amazingly well. And I'm with you on the uneven surfaces. Haven't had anything that intense like you had, but I had a situation where lowering a car on an uneven surface and the car started to lean. Luckily, nothing occurred, but it could have gone bad. Glad you were safe.

They should in my opinion be standard issue !....BUT I am not really complaining I have had my QJ for years with the rubber blocks and I been very VERY happy ,my hydraulic jack has become dual duty door stop /standby device ...BUT I keep it oiled and exercised ...LOL!

LOL Nice. I agree, they should be standard issue for sure. Majority of vehicles these days are SUVs and trucks. The rubber mounts work just fine, but these SUV mounts make quite a difference!
