Climbing in and out is one of the joys of owning a race car. I'm happy to shoehorn myself in and out as it 'simulates that same action. For those with mobility issues though, accessibility is a concern. Great rig.

Just finished my P1-X chassis and have some comments that might help others: 1) The larger heavy duty feet that SimLab sells will raise the whole rig up by up to 5 inches. That extra ground clearance might help you drop your seat somehow... 2) I attached my button box to a piece of aluminum plate (with drilled and tapped holes) and attached this to a short piece of extra 40/40 profile that came from SimLab. I attached this to the 40-120 P1-X upright with a 30 degree flat plate connector from 80/20 Corporation. Very adjustable and solid. And no Velcro! 3) I attached a two foot long aluminum shelf (1/8" thick) where your mousepad shelf is attached for both the keyboard and mouse. I have a wireless 65% keyboard I set on my lap for the few times I need it. 4) Some people like to put the emergency off button for your wheel where you can reach it with your leg. It is less conspicuous and can still be used if the wheel injures your hands. Nice job with the wiring. Very clean install.

Good info! Did you have to drill a hole into your sliders for the pedal plate? Looks like you could just move the profile a bit so they match up... what am I missing. It’s at 1:35

Easy to see why Sim-Lab are the established leaders in the aluminium cockpit space :) having said that I’m throwing my weight (for what little it’s worth lol) behind a local friend in Melbourne who has the extrusion and brackets/fittings to build a cockpit to similar quality though they don’t have the connections and machinery for items like the wheel decks or pedal trays a company like Sim-Lab has got figured out already - but hey for now they’ve got the raw materials to build cockpits if they get the customers willing to look towards premium construction!

We actually use a lot of the extruded aluminum stuff at my work, building rigs for parts we built and desks, and work stations, it's great stuff, and I had no idea companies made sim rigs with it. Also I picked up the previous gen Logitech wireless keyboard and I highly recommend it, either the one you have, or the older one, I can set it in my lap use the keyboard and then toss it off to the side to race without leaning over my rig, or trying to add more cables to manage when I need my keyboard.

I'm camping for the TR1 and as soon as I opened the mail that said it was back in stock, it was sold out. The GT EVO seems to be available but it's clunkier and I like the simplicity and sleekness of the TR1. Guess I'll have to wait some more. Thx for the review mate!

Yeah well I emailed HRS last week and Brett Stiles said they had no idea when they might get stock. I mentioned HRS to simlab and it was as if they had never heard of them. I could send you screenshots of the emails. HRS just said to keep an eye on their social media to see when the gear has arrived. Anyway I'm not fussed . I just thought it would be cool to get one without mad freight costs. I'm not sure about Trak Racer. 🤔

Is not about the money but the p1x is way to heavy and big for my little room packed with all type of electronics , I have for now a ts xw wheel but maybe next year or 2 years for now I will pick a direct drive , gt1 evo is sturdy enough for dd ?? Can I fit inside ? I'm 6.1 foot height and 78kg, I dont like to have my legs cramped
@igorkutcher614 жыл бұрын
1:40 I think you don't need to drill any holes if you would turn all for 180 deg. the way when pull handle would be pointing to the outside of the rig (not inside as it now). This is based on how I mounted it. But i have the question regarding the pedals and pedals mounting plate. Does it comfortable for you? I feel that i need additional heel rest plate or smth. to be about 4cm higher than pedals mounting plate itself. Also I saw that when you pressing brake pedal hard you pushing also the steering wheel with your hands is it because your sitting position not very comfortable in this video? Asking because if i found myself pushing/pulling steering wheel while driving I treat it as indication that something is wrong with the sitting position.

@vividpsychosis82223 жыл бұрын
Hey bud, I got a couple questions about the v3 adapter plate and the p1x rig with seat slider. As I see in your video, so only the seat is sliding but the motion platform is stationary. Doesn’t that mess with the motion? On my n1 currently the v3 was instructed to the top of the sliders with the seat mounted to the v3 so that when you slide the seat you also slide the v3 motion. How does this work on the p1x I’m trying to figure it out. If the v3 adaptor goes in with platform, then I put the slider on top of that with the seat bracket snd seat. When I slide the seat the motion then won’t be in the middle under the seat anymore. Am I thinking about this wrong?
