As an experienced shooter who has thought a lot about the question of a "go-to" general purpose handgun for long-term existence (read meat acquisition and defense), I'm drifting back towards my 9mm Taurus PT-99 (Beretta clone). I have a nice Glock 26 in 9mm, but the extra barrel length on the PT-99 along with it's adjustable sights seem almost essential to me given that I'd want the gun to shoot exactly to my point of aim at any reasonable distance. I really like short-barreled guns for their convenience and looks, but I think in the future that I'll be preparing to use a longer-barreled handgun(s) with adjustable sights to make the most effective use of any ammo that I have available to me. Of course, a long gun(s) is in the mix as well, but this vid prompted me to think about about my short-barreled handguns.
