Released in North America about a month ago, we got our hand on the brand new Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant Add-on Airbus Edition, and have spent the last month actively testing the product. there are 2 blockers for this product for me: the first is no arm spoilers pull feature and the second is the autobrake switch which is supposed to be airbus style with 3 buttons. what a bummer...

If you have a second quadrant, allowing for 4 engines, how do the add-ons attach underneath? Do you connect the speed brake to 1&2 while the flaps connect to 3&4? Is there another cable to connect 1&2 to 3&4, or do you have 2 usb cables to the computer?

might be necroposting but you can use a USB-C (2 cables) to USB-A (1 cable) merger

Pros: - They really tried their best to make it looked like the real thing, even my friend who work in real A320 is astonished "hahaha, just like the miniature of the real thing", he said Add to the cons: - Flaps paddle not actuated like the real aircraft (using lift switch to move in between "gates") - why gave the fuss about complicated reverser axis when this is overlooked? - Throttle detents being evenly spaced, instead of leaving enough room from idle to CL (should be at least 50%) Undecided: - Airbus A350 style autobrake function. Where on earth you can find the BTV function in any PC sim right now? - It is expenseive, but for Airbus lover, you can't have any other

Thank you for your great and honest review. I do not own this hardware. At first glimpse the Quadrant looks cheep on the second too. Maybe I'm spoiled by my great Warthog Hotas from Thrustmaster.

You are possibly right. We were however reviewing only the add-ons and so did not have access to the desk mount which unfortunately means, that we could not take that into account. Thanks for the feedback though!

Good review, but yeah given that you cant arm the speedbreaks, I don't think I will be getting this addon. That's pretty much the main thing you do with the speedbrake during normal flight anyway, arm and disarm etc

@@hmk3131 On the Airbus A320 you can arm the speedbrakes by lifting the lever upwards when in retracted position, which will deploy the speed brakes upon touchdown or during a cancelled takeoff

4:35, It's not really a deciding factor whether to purchase this or not simply because it can't arm the spoilers. There's a lot of good things with this addon, and arm spoilers is just one flaw. But I don't think this will become a deciding factor since there's no other product out there that comes close to this hardware that reflects an A320 setup. If you're expecting to use this for any other aircraft or simulator. Then yes I would agree that this would not be worth getting. But if you're flying A320 exclusively in flight simulators. No other product can give you the same feel as flying an airbus than these setup at an affordable price. So there's really no choice. Either buy it to get the same feel and experience as flying an A320. Or don't get it, and miss out on that whole experience.
