My preferred frame lock 'flipper' as in 'Tri-Ad-Lock' is the 'Recon 1'.

The flipper opening mechanism is quite common on frame lock knifes. And at the time of that video. The ZT 0562CF would have been my favourite. Does that help clarify?

@@echoededge6669 : I don't know why the carbon fiber handle to many users means an overall improvement.
@echoededge66693 жыл бұрын
@@josepmariaaguascaribot9239 carbon fibre scales don’t really offer any function improvement over something like G-10. But it’s seen as a more premium material. People like how it looks. I love carbon on knifes just because I like carbon fibre

Have you had any problems with the bearings wearing the titanium
@echoededge66694 жыл бұрын
No, none at all 👍

Can you elaborate on how you switched from the steel bearings to the ceramic? On the ZT those are captured bearings so I suspect you would need to replace both the plastic housing and the bearings. What are the dimensions and the bearing weights one should look for?

I believe they were 3/32”. I’ll try to check. Later if I still have the dimensions. They steel bearings pop out and can be replaced with ceramic ones using the same plastic housing. At least that how mine is👍

Great knife in every respect but the 0562 can't cut very well. I have no complaints as far as ZT's build quality and action but their blade grinds and HT need improvement. They look beautiful but their performance is ehhh...... And I obviously don't mean durability or strength. I've noticed a bunch of their models just can't cut very well. I've even heard complaints about hinderers xm18 cutting performance and heat treatment. Wish the markman wasn't discontinued.

What on earth are you talking about. I'm a field geologist, working in remote locations around the US, cutting everything from box packing tape to branches used to fabricate tent pegs. I've had this knife for 2 years and have had to sharpen it only twice. It carves wood and dices tomatoes at field camp with equal ease.

@@madgepins1967 So what other types of knives have you used extensively besides ZTs?

I'm not a knife owner yet. Is flipper knife dangerous when you carry it in your pocket? it looks like it can open easily.
@echoededge66694 жыл бұрын
Edward Fenn I’ve never had that problem so far and I don’t know of anyone who has. Flippers usually have a firm detent so it requires some force to start the blade opening. The detent strength on a flipper is usually stronger than a thumb stud/hole knife so it should be safe
@thewindrises4 жыл бұрын
@@echoededge6669 how is the detent on this knife then?
@echoededge66694 жыл бұрын
Weaker than a lot of my other flippers but I definitely wouldn’t say it was unsafe and the action is excellent
@thewindrises4 жыл бұрын
@@echoededge6669 I wonder if detent can be recalibrated?

Fairly easy on a frame lock/ linear lock. Essentially just need to bend the lock bar over more. I might make a video showing how to do it on the QSP Parrot.
