No thank you. (Maby as an optional expansion but not the core game). Like poker with too many wild cards, it becomes chaos with little to no strategy... have 5 of a kind or fold.

I think it is a bad idea. It’s better to leave this in a simplified version of the game (based on the movie) or as an optional mechanic

I just got the market cards today from Zoltan. I also purchased the landsraad faction from him/her and the karama card set. The use of the access token for landsraad faction is not explained well. I’m not sure what it’s for. I’ve never liked the bidding phase nor the group I play with. We are going to use the purchase rule from Dune Conquest to make the game a hybrid of the two.

You could add a territory to control which gives you half the money paid for market cards or something without counting as a stronghold towards victory. All things considered I think adding the market deck isent for me but I do see the appeal. Having weapons and defences more likely to show up when buying treachery makes their expected value higher which encourages higher bids so I still think the emp will get enough money. I think the biggest issue is the balance really. Like alot of factions are kept inline by the fact that are poor and therefore have limited access to weapons early. If all of a sudden the Freman can get a weapon and defence by turn 2 or 3 they become a powerhouse and can really throw their weight around and i think it makes them too consistently strong as apposed to strong later on once they have got a good hand from alliances they have forged etc. Tldr, nice idea but not for me. Maybe an optional add-on would be fine for some variety.

If Zoltan ever puts up the stackable token things for sale I might add this to the order…but I doubt it will hit the table.
