Another great one man. This channel is right up my alley. How do you like riding the 2-up vs the shorter wheel base traditional quads? I always avoided them because of longer wheel base but since I also started riding side by sides, I can't see that as much of an issue anymore!
@TFLoffroad
@TFLoffroad 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The two-up I rode was an 850, but I also spent a lot of time on an XT 1000R. Having the longer wheelbase (it's eight inches longer) on the MAX feels a little more tame and predictable, which just means that it's a little more comfy but feels less aggressive. The XT 1000R is a monster, and the shorter wheelbase definitely makes it jumpy and excitable in the best kind of way. Steep rock faces were also dealt with a little better on the shorter wheelbase machine as well.

I think you're wrong on the comfort assessment. I went from a 08 BF650I to a 2019 Outlander Max XT 850 and this thing is plush, especially riding 2up. There aren't any harsh kick back going over bumps like what I'm used to and It's all day long comfort that handles like a dream.

great review! Ive had 2017 and now a 2018 outty 650 max xt and LOVE them. The new front sway bar would help though, they can roll in the corners if you're not an experienced rider. Active riding is vital on outlanders but it's boring to just sit there and steer! Hands down they're just the sexiest quad money can buy.

The difference is pretty big. Also, it has a lot to do with how you ride. Most people with a bigger bore machine probably ride them harder. My wife's uncle moved up from a 400 to an 800 twin ATV (roughly, forgot the model/brand), but I do remember him talking about having to carry extra fuel for the trails he enjoys. Edit: I want power and the ability to cruise efficiently. The 1000cc market is nice, but honestly, a 650 or 800 twin (in that range) is probably enough. Maybe even a good old honest 700 big bore.

Honda make good reliable machines, very underpowered though and offer very little excitement. Usually your Honda shopper wouldn't look at a Can Am and vice versa. Both built very well, but one pushes boundaries which comes at a cost (reliability), while the other chooses reliability over all else.

Blame the government? Why would we blame the government when we (the people of Canada, the government) have given 100's of millions of dollars to Bombardier in bail-out money because they can't successfully make a profit? No other company* in the history of Canada has been given that kind of financial assistance and yet they turn their back on Canadian workers and send the production plants to Mexico? It's disgusting! * the only other company to receive similar assistance is Air Canada & that's because they were owned by the government for so many years.
@WilliamStewart1

@@jerrybens8032 I say blame the government because they let them leave. Didn't offer enough tax breaks etc etc for then to remain here.
@jerrybens8032
@jerrybens8032 5 жыл бұрын
Like I said, our governments have given them 100's of millions of dollars already. Why do they need tax breaks on top of that & why should we give them tax breaks? Be a good corporate citizen and pay your share of the taxes so it doesn't all fall on the middle class. Bombardier generates over 16 billion dollars in revenue annually. They're greedy and they blackmailed the Canadian people. And after taking all of our tax dollars via bail-outs, they pick up and move several of their companies to other countries. WHAAAAAT!? Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with a company moving their manufacturing to another country. It's their business & they can do what they want with it, but not after they steal my money. I'd never buy another BRP product for that reason alone.
@WilliamStewart1
@WilliamStewart1 5 жыл бұрын
@@jerrybens8032 To each their own, they found a loophole and jumped through it. I would've done the same thing had it been my decision. In the world of business, morals take the low road when it comes to getting ahead. At the end of the day it's all about the bottom dollar, if they can produce the same thing for less money (higher profits), who am I to argue.

Nicely done review. While most people will love the fact that CanAm has lowered the price on their units, every Canadian should actually hate it. Why you ask? The 100's of millions of dollars the Canadian government has thrown at Bombardier (and continues to do so) for bail-out money to keep that company afloat is absolutely ridiculous and should be classified as criminal! For some reason the 10+ billion dollars we (the rest of Canada) gives to Quebec every year isn't enough, we have to bail-out their poorly ran companies too.

BRP Inc. (Bombardier Recreational Products) is a Canadian company making various vehicles. Once part of Bombardier Inc., it was founded in 1942 as L'Auto-Neige Bombardier Limitée (Bombardier Snowmobile Limited) by Joseph-Armand Bombardier at Valcourt in the Eastern Townships, Quebec. In 2003, Bombardier Inc. sold its Recreational Products Division to a group of investors: Bain Capital (50%), the Bombardier family (35%), and the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (15%).
