On the note of trying to get into short stories, idk if you've read it, but Mouthful of Birds by Samanta Schweblin is what really unlocked the world of short stories for me, and it seems like the kind of weird, eerie stuff that you might also like, so I highly recommend it!

i love samanta schweblin!!!! i own that short story collection, but i've been dragging my feet on picking it up since it feels so much harder for my brain to get through short stories ugh i'll definitely try to pick it up soon though!!!

The Case Against Satan and Hellbound are both so good! Little slices of horror that are kind of familiar but manage to be their own thing entirely. Agree about The Horizon - I just found it kind of dull

That's a pretty good couple of months Sam. I'm definitely getting into John Williams this year and right after I finished this video and went to buy BC and Stoner but found out that Nothing but the Night is free on audible!!!! So thanks!!! i've never heard of crying freeman, but if it's a trope-filled, cheesy romance with smut, violence, and nearly endless damsel in distress scenes, then YES! i am lovin dorohedoro!! i will have to check out apocalypse: girls last tour 🫡
