I checked the list and found they ranked China # 107 since "the pro-LGBTQ organizations are not supported by the government". I admit this is true, but I really don't think the homophobia on the social level is more severe than in India and East European countries (which ranked higher on their list )......

Hi Kellyn, thank you so much for your review of our study and for sharing your thoughts. We really appreciate your candidness! We would love to add in data based on surveys of actual LGBTQ+ travelers who have been to each country but so far we haven’t found a source for such data. Another thing I think we could add in the next update is the Trans Murder Map data that I just stumbled upon transrespect.org/en/map/trans-murder-monitoring/?submap=tmm_relative_numbers this would help take care of Brazil ranking too high. Cheers, Asher

Thanks! I loved going through the index and really appreciated the effort that went into providing a holistic and well-researched chart. As I say in the chart, I have some uncertainties around the "ranking" model, but I have no doubt your work is going to help many would-be LGBTQ+ travellers!
