Very nice reviews like always! You're right that "Caesar's Empire" will REALLY appeal to some people, as I'm one big fan of this game (only my second 10/10 this year on BGG, after "Welcome to the moon"). Caesar's Empire is a wonderful family game (simple rules, easy teach, quick turns, vibrant look, nice IP), which illustrates perfectly the proverb that "All roads lead to Rome" and has a spectacular ratio high depth/low complexity. :D Me too, I prefer this game to Ticket to Ride (even to my favorite maps: Japan & France), but apart from connecting cities on a map, those two games are very different. I'll keep them both !! ^^

We really enjoy Pioneer Days as well. Really like the disaster track as it adds strategic elements, in addition to your cards, wagon and resources to purchase items. We also believe it's good for a wide variety of gamer types as it's not a difficult game to play just strategic. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I wanted to love Pioneer Days so much because of the theme and dice-drafting mechanics, but it just fell so flat for me. A little too light but without the depth to keep me interested long. For me it's a solid 6, I'd play it if offered but wouldn't seek it out. If I want a deep dice-drafter I'd go with Grand Austria Hotel, Taverns of Tiefenthal, or Coimbra any day of the week, or for lighter something like Sagrada. Interested to know what you think of those games I mentioned. Thanks for the reviews!

Grand Austria I have not played but think I would love. Taverns I've only played once and did enjoy it. Love Coimbra. I have played Sagrada alot and think it's a fine light game but not one I personally I ask to play.
