Great review, and it's about time, too. I loved the 4 Super IIIs I bought for about 5 minutes... when I put them on the track. We all know now it's mainly the gears, and with many other changes, including different tires, brushes, and magnets, I got them to work great. If these new ones actually work well,then I firmly believe they should've called them Super 4s or ANYTHING else to distance themselves from the bad reputation. It's hard to tell if you're buying a new one or an old one when you're in the store. There's a small mention of new gears on the new package. A HUGE marketing mistake, IMO. I noticed the Nascar licensing must've lapsed on these new ones, a shame since that's the reason why I initially bought them. Thank you for this review. Very helpful!

Thank you so much for your time in watching and commenting! You are so right- they really should be calling them Super 4s (you have a fantastic idea, hard to believe they didn't decide to go that route!). I'm sure they must be aware of the reputation on those. NASCAR is sort of jumping back into licensing slot cars through Carrera (the Hendrick team, anyway). I'm hoping they do get back into HO, although they'd probably only be interested in licensing the current stuff. I would love to see those mid 70s- early 80s cars on my track!

Dennis they are super fast on that track! It'll be interesting to see the NASACR releases that Carrera comes out with in the future.

Yes, I think great things are on the horizon! As for the Super IIIs, yes they are very fast. The funny thing for me is that I don't need them to be, but I know that's important to many, so I'm glad Auto World is continuing this line.

These cars are great for putting your own name on the roof. Just print out your name and a bunch of your friends names on waterslide paper and spray it with the cover spray let dry and cut out and put on.

Just an FYI on Bobby Allison, yes Talladega 87 he went into the catch fence, but that lead to the implement of aggressive speed reduction by nascar Elliott had set the pole at Talladega at over 212, so they will leave the ground, But as for Allison major injury wasn't there in the following February he Won the Dayton 500 and Davey his son finished second.

Yes, thank you for refreshing my memory on these events! I used to be able to recall things quickly, such as race results, points standings, even batting averages and ERAs of every player on my favorite baseball team. But unfortunately, those days are fading. My favorite drivers were Neil Bonnett and the Allisons, and as you know there was way too much heartbreak surrounding them. In 1990, we even named our son after Kyle Petty's son's middle name, and tragedy struck soon afterward there, as well. Thank you for watching and commenting, I really appreciate it!

With the right livery and minor tweaks; they’d probably be a little more fun. 😂. Great video!

With NASCAR getting that new gazillion dollar contract, I'm hoping they eventually toss us slot car people a bone and give permission for someone to create some of those great liveries that have never been represented

Nice review of the Super III's. It's too bad Nascar's licensing is to costly to reproduce proper models. I don't recall a #37 being used on a car that much back in the 80's & 90's..And I agree, the #11 is definitely Junior Johnson's car with Cale Yarbrough driving!
@All-ScaleSlotCars11 ай бұрын
Thank you, Bob! NASCAR just got that gigantic TV contract, why not throw $100 million of that towards slot cars, right?! They wouldn't even miss it! Thanks for helping me trying to figure out those two, so yes, that #11 will officially be known as Yarborough!

37 might have been Morgan Sheperd.

These are very slow on my afc giant raceway two lane is it the high OEM controllers that come with it cause eit came with the mega g plus Indy type cars and every other tycos and others run perfect but these super 3s are super slow with voltage all the way up
@All-ScaleSlotCars2 ай бұрын
They shouldn't be slow at all. Have you checked if the body is sitting correctly on the chassis, and also if the tires are rubbing against the body as they turn? I had this issue on one of them, and needed to change the tires to a smaller size. I think it was on the front tires on the Mustang, if I remember correctly. If the tires are fine and can all turn freely, have you oiled the chassis? If doing all this does not solve the problem, and you purchased these new recently, maybe you can contact the place you purchased and see what they can do for you, possibly sending you replacement chassis. Also, if you are running different types of cars, have you looked into getting electronic controllers where you can adjust the resistance? That should make a huge difference in enjoying the different brands of cars. I hope this helps!

Will the chassis fit most bodies?
@All-ScaleSlotCars7 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, these AW Super III chassis will only fit other AW Super III bodies. They aren't interchangeable with other Auto World bodies such as TJets, 4Gear, and Xtractions, nor other bodies from Tyco, AFX, Aurora, Lifelike, Marchon, etc. Someone may have made a special chassis clip which will work to fit these on those other bodies, or you could probably use your own method with Velcro or something to make them fit. The good news is that Auto World had made many different Super III cars in the past, and will probably be making more in the future, and all of those older bodies are interchangeable with the new Super III chassis. Hopefully this helps, thanks for watching and let me know if you have any other questions!

@@All-ScaleSlotCars yeah well I was wondering how it performs compared to the original Auto World junk chassis. I want it to fit a 69 Charger Auto World body
@All-ScaleSlotCars7 ай бұрын
@@chrisspearline767 I would say these are the very best of the Auto World chassis. As for fitting it on the (Xtraction) Charger, it may be possible, but with modifications like shaving the clips a little to get it stable, and possibly shaving the wheel wells a little. If you have a nearby Hobby Lobby, you may find one of these on the shelf for $20, just to see how you like them. Do you like the old Aurora AFX Magnatraction or GPlus (wide) chassis? If so, they'd be a great fit for your Xtraction Charger.
