I honestly find skate 3 to be the most boring of the titles. It just feels like it has no personality. First has the best personality but is slightly janky, and 2 is for sure the best in my eyes.

Honestly? I disagree immensely, but it’s not one of those things I can say with certainty you’re wrong about, because skate 1 and 2 have something that skate 3 doesn’t. Even though skate 3 is my unequivocal favorite, it’s missing a certain charm the others had

@@TroyVault I mean if you want to do tricks and land awesome combos in a skatesimulator in a city built for it, skate 3 is great. But if you want to feel like you are in a real city and create art through skating, thats skate 1. Skate 2 finds a great balance between the two, which imo makes it the best. I prefer jank over the lack of personality, trying to hit a ledge with a flip for 20 minutes in skate 1 feels better than spending 30 minutes for a supercool combo in skate 3 for me. There are definately pros and cons to all 3 games, but its like picking between ice cream and chocolate - i still have a ton of hours in skate 3 because it is a really good game and i filmed alot of clips on my old 360 that looked cool

Fun facts: Skate 2 is also available for digital download if you bought on the 360 marketplace back in the day (like me) San Vanelona is a mix of San Francisco, Vancouver, and Barcelona, hence the name :)

25:00 I was about to be like “you didn’t even grab the board” (for the kill it objective) and immediately after I noticed you moved a picnic table to hit the gap on that one. I forgot you can literally grab and move stuff, and the game tells you that. I’m new. Loving the game in 2025. Heard about it for years.

Off topic, but I love tony hawks project 8, I played it so much as a kid and it’s just fun, I see people hating on it and I understand but it holds a special place in my heart

Thats an insane statement "they bought skate or tony hawk" the statement where you said "people stopped buying Tony hawk when it became more casual" that was me, i got skate 1 when it came out and that was it, i still play skate to this day lol Edit: I had already stopped buying skateboarding games after american wasteland, I already had every game i wanted. When skate came out it reignited my passion for skating

I'm not the greatest at the game, but I have to say that the games of skate can be really annoying, especially in Skate 2, because of the controls. It's not that they aren't precise, it's the opposite. When the difference between a 360 flip and a varial kickflip is a few degrees at the very start of the input, it gets frustrating really fast. Plus throw in that the AI skaters almost never miss and the games of skate drag on for way too long. The Koston and Carroll one is the worst.

Could be nostalgia l, but the first skate has to be my favorite. I remember thinking the graphics were real life when that game came out.

I really liked how in skate 1 and 2 you got to pick your sponsors as part of the story (especiallyskate 2). I have the most time in skate 3, but i absolutely believe skate 2 was significantly better overall. Thanks for the video brother! 🙏

I grew up skating and playing both series, but I was always disappointed at THPS lack of realism. I do love Session though. I think Skate 1 is the best, due to how it feels. 3 is too hyperactive and 2 is choppy.

Skate 4 playtest has been very good so far from what I've played. If they keep up the way they are skate 4 will 100 percent be the best game in the series

I think the biggest issue is you can’t review the multiplayer anymore. Also if you go in free skate in skate 2 and turn off pedestrian and vehicles I can’t remember for skate 1 but I think you can do the same. Skate 2 multiplayer was something else genuinely had to be there sorta thing and it’s not heavily documented. Most kids didn’t have a capture card in 2009 now we can just save any clip.

I religiously played the first 2 as a teenager, buying each one basically day one. I played the Demo of 3 and just didn't care enough to buy it. The vibes were gone, the game got too arcadey. Even now, going back and trying to emulate it, I don't vibe with it. It's a shame.
