Staley needs to go. His defense, after 2 offseasons of re-vamping and big time investment, bringing "his" guys, is one of the worst in the league. No excuses. Herbert just doesn't lookl comfortable, and this year they're giving him a chance to change plays at the LOS, and I think right now, he looks a bit overwhelmed with that. In the end he'll adapt and be good with it, but we're talking about the 3rd OC he's had in the NFL, some inconsistencies may be part of the process, and it's another good reason never to hire a DC for HC.

Coming here from Spotify to give my thoughts on the Bengals offense and whats going wrong. To me what seems “off” about Joe Burrow is not just the mobility but the ability to make throws and put the ball in the right spot. I think the decision making is there, and even the int I think wasn’t a bad read but the ball placement was not right. I like your theory about the leg drive I think that could be part of it but also just the fact he missed a lot of preseason and camp so he needs to get back in rhythm

It's not like Washington's defense was getting carved up all day. Marvin Mims TD play and a Hail Mary completion accounted for 13 of the points. They had 7 sacks and 14 QB hits, the defense was getting home.

Been saying that since last season. Last season the lack of good QBs was massive. I couldn't figure out why they didn't sign Carr, then the Rodgers thing must have been in the works even then. Which was too bad because Lamar Jackson would have been a _WAY_ better fit & it was obvious the Ravens didn't want to pay him. Rodgers should have gone to Denver who had a #1 defense under Ejiro Evero. The Jets should have drafted Fields, not Wilson. As it stands I'm not even sure that's right because I still can't tell if Fields stares into the void because of the crappy play of his team or a side effect of his anti-seizure meds. But if he had gone to a team trying to win at least we'd all know.

In response to why Mike Evans gets away with every call, he absolutely does get away with being way too physical, but it goes both ways. I've never seen a receiver get drug around and face masked at the top of routes and held onto the way Mike does and get no called. If you're facing off against Evans you have to know that whatever happens, the refs are not stepping in regardless, so give as much as you get.

Thing is with Dennis Allen, we’re not surprised the defense is good, it’s just that he’s also responsible for the offense even if it’s not his specialty. Also there’s too much of a “playing not to lose” mentality, the offense not pushing the ball and the defense playing prevent the last 5 mins shows that

With Brandon staley, it's inane that his job was being called for because of his hyper aggression on 4th down and people were lofting him up as this stalwart of Analytics, but we have literally never seen that coach again and instead he probably should have lost his job after year one for the exact opposite reason that he just can't coach defense. His legacy will be another Chargers Head Coach who got way too many chancrs to waste valuable years of (maybe another) Hall of Fame quarterback. A complete and utter waste. The only saving grace is that maybe Kellen Moore was brought in as a de facto successor to Brandon Staley when he inevitably gets fired.

Cincys offense cannot function at its best with this Burrow calf injury. Look at the ADT, look at him trying to compensate for having no lower body power, look at the deep balls that are floated up in the air because he cant put any zip on the ball. If they dont sit him then maybe they are .500, since im assuming a calf injury wont just dissappear. They sit him and start 0-4, 0-5 and as soon as he's back they have to go balls to the wall to catch up. Its looking very bleak in Cincy. I dont see how they make it this year, unless Browning comes in and looks like "i aint write back" Geno and id put that at below a 3% chance.
