all show, no dough. all hat, no cowboy. all sizzle, no steak. basically saltbae in a nutshell 😂

This is what I really hate. We all know that Nusr-Et is a scam but it constantly gets influencers 'reviewing' it to say its a scam. This is how they make money. Everyone just needs to ignore Nusr-Et and let it burn.

It's certainly a beautiful restaurant. I appreciate that you go into each restaurant with an open mind. I honestly don't know what to think of the "circus side shows" when they serve the food. Maybe less branding and theatrics would help them focus on food prep which in turn would increase business. Looking forward to your next video!

We definitely enjoy some theatrical elements like a good Baked Alaska but it doesn’t make up for bad food! Doesn’t surprise us that his restaurants are closing. Thanks for watching!!

It amazes me that people think gold foil should make food more expensive. Real expensive ingredients are expensive due to actual reasons: saffron only grows in specific regions and needs to have the threads picked by hand. Truffles basically only grow in the wild and need to be hunted down. Caviar needs you to raise and kill the ~18 year old sturgeon for one batch. They all also add flavors aside from their rarity Gold foil does not take a 50 USD steak to 1500USD

Great video! Yeah, that lunch menu may have a good price, but if the steak and burger aren't great and you're not getting the show, there's not much of a point. Good move getting the New York Strip afterwards!

Couldn’t agree more! Why even offer a lunch menu if it’s going to give people such a bad impression of the food!

The Benihana Goat Milk Baklava On Ice Performance (or BGMBOIP, for those in the know 😏) is really what sets Nusr-Et apart for me. Nowhere else can you get a waiter to stupidly dance around and idiotically tap a knife on a plate like he's auditioning for an off-off Broadway revival of Stomp (called Stump, for copyright reasons) instead of just serving you a slice of baklava on a plate like someone who's not on cocaine. It's a stroke of genius, tbh.

carpacio and tartare are often served table side, the idea being that they'd mix the ingredients properly. I love table side preparations.

Great review. I actually like the table side service and show as long as the food is first class. Do you think dinner would be at the level of a great steak house? The lunch price was low for this type restaurant.
@travelfuller5 күн бұрын
Thanks! We typically like the theatrical elements as well. Here I think the prices are too high and food isn’t good enough to make going for the table side presentations worth it. The steak from the regular menu was decent enough but not even close to the ones we’ve had from the other NYC steakhouses like Keens, Gallaghers or Hawksmoor

That steak would piss me off. To even allow you to state your level of doneness on a steak so thin as to be impossible to get anything less than medium well. I would have sent that back immediately and left. Way too much of a j-hole move to do that to customers.

Small thing, if you were to hold your chopsticks further back like your husband does, you would get more leverage and clamping strength to grab the food. The way your holding it now is a little too close to to food itself

I’m not totally against the idea of entertainment that they try to do at Salt Bae restaurant. It reminds me, in a spirit, of Ferrell’s Icecream Parlor from my childhood, but that was fun... These guys are cringe and need to keep the entertainment but rethink the script. BTW you are wrong about that final steak, that is not a perfect medium rare, and you can tell by the bunching up of the muscle, its undercooked for medium rare by maybe 20 seconds.
