I do get tired of hearing commentators talking about each Dallas win like it’s luck, a fluke. They will still be saying it if they win the cup. at what point does a team’s success go from luck to earned in one way or another? A finals appearance in 2020, back to back conference finals appearances. All luck? Statistically incredibly unlikely.

@ITS_ABOUT_HOCKEY lol while that maybe true. It can be said about nearly every team at some points in people's Fandom. Though the bias in nearly all national commentary is what really grinds my gears... If the Stanley Cup is Dallas v Florida you will hear the commentators literally say they would rather be playing golf. I just hope they keep betting against us and losing their money time after time

I’m a kings fan so of course I’m gonna have a little bit of a grudge against the Oilers or feel there’s some ref favoritism towards Edmonton, but man you gotta really blow it from a reffing standpoint to have Gretzky on the TNT broadcast calling out the refs saying that shouldn’t have been an embellishment on Marchment. That man got crosschecked right in the center of the back you just can’t call something like that an embellishment. Gretzky said it was one of the worst calls he’d ever seen during the 2nd intermission. Just found that interesting. Great breakdown of the game as always.

Kings fan living in Dallas - so I'm heavily rooting for Dallas in this series and it's not because the Kings have lost to them 3 consecutive years - the Kings have themselves to blame for that. I just don't like the team, Nurse, Perry, Draisaitl and Kane in particular - they're all good but cheap and dirty. I'm also tired of hearing McDavid's name more than every other Oilers player's name combined, like he's effing God. He's good, but there are 20-something other players on the squad too... If the Oilers lose this series, methinks there's going to be a day of reckoning in Edmonton. McDavid's and Drai's backs have got to be wrecked from carrying the rest of the team on them, and they're not going to put up with it for much longer if they don't believe they'll end up with a Cup to show for it. If they come back empty-handed from yet another postseason, I have a feeling Ken Holland's seat is going to start feeling mighty hot, especially considering the unbelievably long leash he's been given over the past several years. His entire organizational strategy consisting of a single Post-It note with "mcdavid and draisaitl go brrrrrrr" hastily scribbled onto it isn't going to cut it anymore.

Oilers had good first period )) but game is not 20 min )) game is 60 min ! 😝Dri ( - 2 ), Nurse ( - 2 ) , Skinner's SV% = .81% ( 4 goals , 17 SV ) Jason Robertson completed his first-career playoff hat trick 😇 he is Nugent-Hopkins's client ?🤑

As a dance artist remixing abba is like a touchstone. Personally half of us wouldnt be spinning decks for fun or money without them so it makes sense we remox em from time to time. Its an honoring a classics kinda thing i jave no issue with Edmonton going more edm its kinda fitting if ya ask me.

The Oilers did an excellent job of mucking up the front of the net in the 1st. Dallas adjusted well going into the 2nd doing a better job of clearing the crease and not allowing the Oilers to control the puck in Dallas's zone. It's a thing of beauty.

Refs absolutely swallowed their whistles this game. And for an Oilers team that's leading the playoffs on both sides of the speciality teams that hurt them big time.

This was an interesting game in that the Oilers got their snooker game offense back - at least in the first period. Too many turnovers in the 2nd and beyond, and Skinner panics and starts chasing pucks out into the slot...I turn the game off when teams that are behind pull the goalie. You're just giving away easy goals for the PROSPECT of help from an extra attacker. I still see these as coaching blunders, and teams drinking the Kool-Aid on "miracle comebacks". You have a better chance of tying a one goal game playing 5 on 5...Dallas was solid - including Oettinger...

I haven't watched a ton of Dallas games but i do know they are a tough team in the 2nd period. I miss the days when local commentary used to get a couple rounds in the playoffs. I understand that the national coverage has their team but I wish they would have a guy from each teams broadcast included in the game coverage.

On the topic of music at last night's game. I noticed they played at least one drum and bass song last night which really caught my by surprise. I feel like DnB is getting more attention these days even if it's very little.

Something told me the way the oilers came out that dallas needed to just stay tough and ride that wave out hopefully not letting the game get out of reach.. it really seemed like the oilers burned out and had an emotional dump there and dallas took over.. they are such a smart hockey team. Great game. Lots of action. Robo is definitely happy his line mate Hintz is back. 😊 Lets gooooo 🌟

So I just watched the first season of Shoresy. And the first episode where Shoresy is on the toilet saying how bad the team was with a lot of expletives. I assume someone in the Stars locker room was doing a similar rant on how awful they were in the first. However, while I was upset at the start, I wasn't ready to throw this game away. Luckily, my faith was rewarded. What a game by Robertson. Not too long ago, i was hoping he'd show up more with some goals, and boy did he. Hintz really opens him up to get to work. Thank God he's back. That 4th goal though... yeeesh Skinner really has to have that, but im glad he didnt as a Stars fan. And as much as Oettinger can give up a weird one here and there, hes been great this series and really came up big.

Not coincidentally I've been saying Robo needs to shoot more and stop looking for a cute pass. Put it on net. He gets Roope back and suddenly he stops looking to pass all the time. It's not PhD level math, but apparently it is psychological - he got his hockey soul mate back and now he's shooting. Go figure.

Interesting how both series are closely mirroring each other, both Dallas and NYR lost first game at home, then won next 2, both Rangers and Dallas were scored on first, both Rangers and Dallas came back to take the lead in the 2nd period, only for the home team to come back and tie. The only difference is Dallas took the lead in the 3rd and the Rangers needed overtime. What was interesting in that 2nd period is like Edmonton slept for 10 minutes, but then woke up after Skinner stopped a breakaway.. The game winner reminded me of Freddie Andersen giving up one of his bad goals when you can't seal off the post to the pads..

The Lack of belief in this team by so many is mind blowing. They have been doing this all season. Not sure why this is such a surprise. Just have to change the jersey you are wearing. Started in a D-Stars Jagr Jersey Changed to Hintz Home then to Johnston St Pattys day WINNING!!! Didnt even have to use my Rave Robertson! Today was a good day!

Given how often the Oilers lose after leading, it feels a bit less bad to see them lose or get eliminated. They deserved it after that performance, and Dallas showed they were a better cup contender. On to the next game.

The quote from Knoblauch just scary…hoping the great first period would enable them to sail on .. Ouch! This is a coaching duel in postseason. DeBoer has won a lot..and not won..in Cup Finals. Stars are in these playoffs for infinity. A 2-0 lead after one period in this NHL season..it’s often momentary advantage. And Stars have impressive road wins record this season.
