if you're someone who's just starting and don't have any type of physical activity, this rope is perfect, even doing just five minutes with this jump rope, using an app like chrono list, 30 secs jump and 30 secs rest, hell, rest for a minute if you feel you need it, but you're going to be burning more calories than before, and this is going to help to get the hang of the rhythm of a jump rope if you want to start doing tricks later, I'm happy to say veteran that I moved and now I have a place where I call comfortably jump in the morning, I'm really happy, your videos are inspiring me to come back to jump rope after almost two years of basically just watching what I'm eating to be able to pay my bills and not gain weight, but this is something great in my life, keep the videos, hope you can continue doing things like the podcats, and updated versions of tricks like side swings now that you have better video and audio quality, greetings and much respect, have a great day.

Thanks JRV for the in-depth analysis of this rope. I’ve been really looking forward to your review. I have had this rope for about a year. I use it in combination with another rope: “The Beast” from Punk Rope. I skip for 3 minutes with each rope, and I do that 5 times each. In between using those two, I use a heavy 2-pound rope which I use for 30 seconds at a time. I agree with everything that you have said about the EliteSRS Muay Thai rope. I hung mine over a hot radiator for a couple of hours before it was usable. I paid about £30, including delivery, for this rope from Dope Ropes in the UK. The one disappointment I have had is that the cord is wearing through now. I think that may be been down to the type of mat I was using. The mat was more of a hard plastic mat I had for a while rather than the soft rubber one I now have. Anyway, as you state, for the money this is a very good rope and it provides a full-on workout for me. (In the UK, 'The Beast' is available for £20 including delivery, from the Thai Boxing Store. They call it the 'TBS Skipping Rope')

Thanks JRV for a great review. Dan I am in the UK and currently looking at both the Mauy and the TBS for my first weighted rope. I am swinging towards the TBS because I think it would be more flexible and better for a first time heavy rope. I was wondering what you think? Cheers Dan
@danw10202 жыл бұрын
@@dannyg7656 Hi Danny, I think that the TBS Skipping Rope is really worth it for the money. My Elite SRS Mauy Thai rope did actually wear completely through. It is not a solid rope, it does only have a hollow core. So really, the TBS Skipping Rope is very good value, although not as heavy as the Elite SRS one.

Great in depth review Vet. The biggest cons of pvc ropes is their adverse reactions to extreme weather. Like you I live in a place (Scotland) where we get cold winters. Pvc isn’t the best for jumping outside at those times. I’d definitely order this after seeing your review though. Thanks for taking the time to share your reviews.

I'd opt for the bigger one. My rule of thumb has always been to choose a longer rope if your height is on the cut line. I think that there's a way to adjust this rope, but it requires a lot of time and some tools. Someone mentioned it in the comment section awhile back. Thanks for watching. JRTF.💪🏾

Thorough review thanks. I'm a long time jumper and this is my first heavy. Very challenging. Started a month maxing out at 50 reps. Up to 250 this morning. Goal is 1000. Doubles are really hard for me with this beast. I need to do 4 singles for each double. Maybe I'll build up to consecutive doubles.

Looks like a really cool rope but the fact that it isn’t adjustable is a problem for me. I like to set my ropes up to be at a particular length. Is there anyway the length can be adjusted ?
@JumpRopeVeteran2 жыл бұрын
Hi Derek. There's no way to adjust this rope easily. If you take a ratchet and unbolt the nut/bolt combo inside the handle, you can likely remove the rope from the handles and cut the rope down, but that's probably more trouble than it's worth. The rope is definitely not designed for anyone to adjust it. You have to buy one of the three pre-sized ropes. I agree with you. Adjustability is a priority for me as well. Thank you for your continued support of the channel. Take care. JRTF. 💪🏾
@portisheadjumpropeclub22762 жыл бұрын
@@JumpRopeVeteran cheers Jude yeah rope looks really great and I have one on order thinking I could adjust it :( I will give it a go when it arrives otherwise I won’t be able to use it. Unfortunately the shortest cross rope is too long for me now too and I really avoid using knots if I can. I have ordered a beaded rope from Elite SRS as well. I have the boxer rope from them and it’s a really great 5mm PVC rope. I think with these weighted ropes all the companies should look to have them adjustable and offer replacement cords maybe a summer and winter cord. With the handles lasting ages in a world where we are looking to reduce waste replacement cords seem to be a no brainer ? We need to bring a rope out :)
@JumpRopeVeteran2 жыл бұрын
Hi Derek. See if you can return the rope once it arrives. As I'm sure you're aware, most companies will accept returns and refund the money, or send you a rope that is more to your liking. Since you're a serial jumper influencing a small community of jumpers online, they wouldn't want to lose a customer like you. I agree with your ideas about replacement cords and have been saying this for a long time. I tried to highlight it in my review of the Legacy Rope. Why are you averse to using knots? I'm just wondering.
@portisheadjumpropeclub22762 жыл бұрын
@@JumpRopeVeteran I can’t be bothered with the hassle of returning it so I will try and adjust it. Yes but it’s not just Rushie who needs to look at replacement cords it’s all the companies who don’t do it. This Elite SRS rope as an example and to also make it adjustable. I used to use knots when I was getting to know what rope length was best for me but now that I know I like the cord to be clean of knots if for nothing else than pure aesthetics. Knotting thicker ropes ( like this Muay Thai rope ) will just unbalance it for me around the handles. I am not a fan of weighted handles I like a nice weight distribution between handle and cord.
@JumpRopeVeteran2 жыл бұрын
@@portisheadjumpropeclub2276 Derek, I acknowledge all. My reference to the Legacy Rope was to bring attention to larger issue that you mentioned in your previous comment: that not providing replacements may be a good short-term financial gain, but there's an argument that it could alienate customers in the long run.
