Nico, I'm pretty sure the reason for the flaps on the AMG One's front wheels are so the wheel wells don't create lift, similar to a prototype car. Great video, love the content.

I think its too hard to pick which hyper car is best. Valkyrie has the insane exterior design, Nevera has the outrageous acceleration and software, and the AMG One has the F1 history & engine and it has the variable aerodynamics. They should work together to combine all these unique characteristics in one car hahaha

That car not only has one, not two, but THREE insane things - Recordbreaking 12,100 RPM from 4.0L V12 - Curb weight of only 986 kg - Has a fan for downforce

Those gaps in the amg project one- the ones above the front tyre helps in generating down force and relieving pressure from the front tyres.

I was really surprised that Nico didn't know about the flaps above the front wheels are there to release pressure from the front wheel well. You just assume he knows loads about cars! For car people we've seen it loads just recently on Porsche GT cars and Mercedes AMG GTR Pro. Nico is still ace though! It shows a lot about the man that he doesn't mind admitting to not knowing stuff! I think he's a really down to earth bloke! Its such a shame he gave up F1 when he did, but I can understand why he did!

The venting on the wheel arch is to relieve high pressure in the wheel well. That causes both drag and lift. Making it active is very interesting... Looking forward to learning more about the ways that changes the aero properties with speed and direction.

Never because its more like a track tool only, not for everyday. Its just not a complete car to me, the inside is just raw carbon etc.. It looks very uncomfortable etc..This is really only good for the track while the project one wants to be both which is better in my mind. If you want a race car you can buy a "race car" without street license ! That makes more sense to me

I think Valkyrie gives you the feel of real F1 car and it V12 engine in the back just bonkers the total experience hard decision but sound makes the big difference.

Valkyrie on the good B roads and tracks. AMG One in the streets. I think the AMG One will be a bit more town friendly.

Difference is that Valkyrie's will be difficult to drive ln the streets. The AMG One is still an AMG which means a solid, fast daily car.

@@teamracing07 the AMG One will NOT be a daily driver by any means regardless how street friendly it will be. The service manual states that the Power Unit is to be REPLACED at 30,000 miles or 45,000 kilometers. With a list price at $3.5mil.... it certainly will not even be close to be considered a weekly driver.

@@hondared88 I know but 45,000km is a lot. A lot of rich people drive their cars max 200-1000km per year. So no worries there. And if you can afford a car that's in the millions, you can afford to pay for the services. And the engine is not 3.5 million.

Rimac Nevera is definitely more practical. AMG One is still stripped out, not as much sound deadening, not as comfortable. Also techwise it's debatable, each has their own technical strengths.

@@F1ll1nTh3Blanks my one thing is that with current tech you can fill up the AMG one with fuel in less than 5 to 10 minutes versus waiting for the rimac to charge to 80% in less than 30 minutes. Thats where my practicality ideology comes from. If electric cars could charge sub 10 minutes to full then I would be more split as well.

@Nico Rosberg is very difficult to choose only one. Every single car you mentioned is different as Day & Night.....Valkyrie...pure track tool, great aero, engine, AMG One piece of art with F1 Engine that's really crazy....you can use it on track and for "everyday" life and that make difference. Rimac Nevera...what a machine...pure electric, very clever, fast, no so big emotios from design perspective but that performance wow. Every car is different and for different purpose...always depend for what are you looking for, Track tool - Valkyrie, Amazing mountain roads and tracks - AMG One, Everyday life Nevera

Shark fin is not for stabilizing the airflow towards the rear wing. It actually creates more drag and there is no significant improvement of the downforce. Its purpose is to create a pressure difference while cornering thus helping the car to rotate and be more stable troughout the corner.

I would love the AMG One. It is what you dream of when you are a kid to have an F1 engine in a car. I do think it won't be as good as if they had developed a special power plant just for the car though. All the effort spent trying to de-tune an F1 engine, they could have just tried to get a street engine as close to an F1 engine and made it perfect for the street and track

The vents above the front wheels are designed to help remove the rolling aerodynamic force caused by the air pressure from the rotating wheels/tires. Allowing the air to escape from the top prevents unexpected lift and ensures the aerodynamic profile is not compromised.

I believe they are slightly open at high speed to allow the air to escape the wheel well at high speed without creating too much aerodynamic disturbance on the top of the car. Only assuming that because high speeds are when you’d most want to get rid of that lifting force from the air within the wheel well.

I'm most excited for the AMG One!! the Valkyrie is a technical marvel, but It's too extreme, too loud, and feels too much like a track car for the road. The Rimac and the AMG One are at least a little more practical and feel more like cars you could actually drive around. The AMG One gets the win because of it's ICE and it's F1 engine. The Rimac is crazy fast, but the lack of a sound doesn't make it as fun.
