That’s just reminded me that the Royal Navy thought their aircraft was the last fly off the mothballed Ark Royal! No no afraid not. My friend Brendan O’Brian civvy display pilot was flying back to Redhill, getting closer to the dock Brendan was badly in need of a pee and thought I really to land asap, Then he saw the aircraft carrier and thought ahh that’s a great runway! So Brendan landed, found a washroom for relief, got back in his aircraft a Pitt’s Special, then took off. 😂. Brilliant story as Brendan then explained! There was not a dry eye in the pub that night, we were in stitches. Gosh Brendan is Such a great character super fun, a lovely man. UK’s Biggles. Every yacht owner will tell your that the biggest mistake in their life was a yacht ( I mean yacht with crue, captain - not little that you can manage yourself) You use the yacht 1-2 month max. Sow the price that you pay only for 1 year of parking and maintenance - you can offer to yourself 35m every year new boat for 6 weeks.. Stupid waste of cash

So a friend of mine rented a boat in the Amsterdam canals and I was the captain responsible for 8 souls. It was an electric boat. Very eco. We had a lot of fun, food, booze, and beautiful views of the city. I'm honestly wondering what it would be like to own a big yacht like the one Nico has. Maintenance and harboring the thing alone would swallow up most of my income every month. But I could live in it, I wouldn't need a house anymore. My house would go wherever I want it to go. That does sound amazing. I'm so happy that there are people in this world who get to experience that :)

Everything has its place inside the “eco-friendliness” spectrum. You can’t just put every eco-friendly product on the same bag and start comparing each other, because they serve different purposes. If we look at the yacht standards, we can agree that this yacht in particular is eco-friendly. But if you compare the yacht to a Prius, then the yacht is gonna look bad, and if you compre the Prius to a Smart ( that has 3 cylinders and can’t even do a 100kph) the Prius is gonna look bad and so on.

At first I was like a “A yacht?!” But watch the video. It’s his life. This thing is seriously designed from the very beginning with sustainability in mind. It shows that even when you a spending huge money, you can do it without wrecking the environment. There are examples embedded throughout the whole video about design choices that center around sustainability. If as a planet we are going to make stuff, why not make it with low impact in the environment. Also, you see the jobs of the future. Nico, thanks very much for sharing this.

Yeah so environmentally friendly. What happens to the batteries when they're dead. The lithium in the batteries cause major environmental damage digging that out of the ground. And the solar, the panels are full of poisonous chemicals.

I think it depends if they are using green electricity from solar or wind for the production facilities. But unfortunately in Poland most electricity come from coal.

Excellent video Nico. So good you have gone for the Sunreef as oppose to a Gin Palace. Tristain from Super Yatch Captain also rates these Green Yatchs. Boating is a great leveller and extremely friendly. I am at the other end of the boat scale with my council house boat but I love her all the same. Enjoy the new Yatch.

I admire your journey Nico. I also appreciate your sustaianability ethos and purpose to push for more sustainable products, solutions, way of living. The catamaran is sick and it's impressive how far sailing yachts have gone in terms of responsible manufacturing and operation! I am with you on that. I don't think the timing is the best to post this video though. Maybe 2nd half of next year would be better received when the first signs of recovery will be coming.
