GOG was invented the insert truck in the 90s I think. 🤔

Thanks for the breakdown. Great comprehensive explanation as always.

ALL tall barrel DH Slalom trucks should come with a shim to run standards ❤🫡

Excellent breakdown! I'll definitely have to try the tall barrels on my robots to see how it feels on them!

*Yes, truck series review!!* 🤙🏽⚡️🤟🏽⚡️👌🏽 Considered pickin up some Rogue Cast trucks but I'm not into downhill, heard Rogues are great over 20-25mph but under that they feel sluggin for chill speeds. Love the design choices on them though, tall bushing, an insert, no real bushing seat, creates a very unique feel I hear and I'm glad we got some cast ones.
@owencampbell7776 күн бұрын
They're really not that sluggish with a reasonable wheelbase. Especially with the 48 degree baseplates on the cast, they really shine at low speeds because of how much lean you can extract out of them

great job on bushing size testing, I got the zm1 not long ago and i completely agree overall, some unordered remarks * 20-25° back is definitely a game changer for freeriding as soon as you get some speed * For kingpin slop, i think this is not a real issue : if you see some, your kingpin should be easy to remove. So just hammer it gently 3cm, wrap it in any glue you want (i use locktite) and use bushings and washers to pull it back from the other side : wont move anymore for a while * Always have been a rogue fanboy, but this tends to increase as i improve : i noticed several minimal play between parts in the zm1, tried to fix it but it made the trucks impossible to dismount, went back to normal and i'm forced to admit they are impressive pieces of engineering : the play seems to be there for ergonomic purpose, it makes the trucks surprisingly easy to dismount, and the "all spherical" design makes them "self center" at speed. I'm not fast enough to find the limit. * Last thing on the zm1, i could not personaly ride that stock bushing combo, at 30km it was already way to reactive for me, as soon as i replaced the pink bushing in front it got perfect. nothing to be said about the rear truck, it just works and grips super good Good work, thanks !

Good advice with the kingpin slop! I would've tried it if I owned these trucks. Did you replace the pink bushing for another 78a blue in your ZM1s?
@maxime.moineau6 күн бұрын
@@owencampbell777 a orange one, not sure about the duro, around 84 i guess, anything harder than the pink was already better for me, even street skating 100a cone bushings 😂

hey, great vid! I have been skating the Zm1s since the last weekend of september, coming directly from over a year on valkyrie 3.5 slaloms and a 2 week test of Scythe reapers.. I've found incredible joy from the small washer up front obviously keeping the pink 73a barrel and have been trying to decide wether i prefer the green 93a paired with a cupped washer or keeping the glow 95a but with a flat washer on the back truck (roadside obviously). Looking forward to your in depth and your thoughts/other modifications!

I'll make sure I try those bushing and washer combos, stay tuned!

I think Radikal Talons were the first trucks to use an insert bushing. It was also somewhat common for people to run a cut to size bushing as an insert in place of a spherical bearing, which a few earlier precisions made use of.

Thanks for the history lesson! I hope I see somebody with a set sometime, I'd love to see how they're implemented

Ahoy friends, anyone here been riding with footstraps recently? I setup a mountain board with caliber II and some street wheels and it's kinda crazy how I can get pressure down with feet strapped tightly to the board... no longer limited by gravity and my weight I can actually lift the high side of the board by applying foot pressure to the straps 🤯
@owencampbell7776 күн бұрын
Woah that’s nuts, maybe that’s the way of the future
@danoyes16 күн бұрын
@owencampbell777 😆 maybe 🤷♂️ but it does seem like lots of board sports are using footstraps these days, snowboards have for a while, some surfboards, mountain boards and some electric longboards 🤔

hello Owen whats is the thickness of the uretane washer for the gold trucks thanks

I don’t have them anymore but you can ask @shoreline_boarder on instagram, I think he played a part in designing it

Hello! It's literally the same width as a flat washer. That seems to be the width that they were over milled. The urethane ones I feel just allow further compression into the baseplate. After all, double tall bushings exist for more compression, so I thought why not this little shim also add to that? Now NOT ALL RUNS OF THESE TRUCKS HAVE THIS ISSUE. Like 2 out of the 3 or so batches, but I shit you not 9/10 gold rogues I see in the wild have this issue.
