I ordered because of this review and used for the first time yesterday. Very quiet and did a great job. There's honey left at the bottom which doesn't quite reach the gate which will be fun getting that out 😬
@BugFarmerBees Жыл бұрын
Even my Maxant does that. Just tip it forward and viola! That said I just acquired a Hillco extractor where the honey gate is below the bottom of the tub. That VEVOR is a great extractor for the back yard beekeeper. It will get the job done.

If you put caster type wheels on your extractor, it may wobble, but it won’t walk away, nor will it tear itself up fighting floor bolts. Think motion damper. You may find you need the long leg installation configuration to fit a screen and 5 gallon bucket below the gate. Please revisit or update after a season’s extraction. (I’ve already had their foundations fall out of their frames in a beehive when they got warm)

Unfortunately, I gave the VEVOR extractor away to a friend who has just become a beekeeper. That said, he has already used it and said it worked out well for him. I will bu trying a Bee Castle extractor this season. :-)

I believe I have the same brand but a 3 frame. Atleast the motor and controls look similar. I do wish they would install the honey gate in the edge of the bottom so we didn't have to tilt it up to get all the honey to strain out. Taller legs would be nice as well for 5 gallon buckets to fit under it. Other then that I like mine but I need a bigger one 😆
@BugFarmerBees Жыл бұрын
I have to tilt up my Maxant and I paid 1k for it. This isn't a bad extractor for 200.00. If someone only has a couple of hives this would be better that the crush and strain method for sure.

Hi MaryJane. It's to small for my needs. My 6 frame Maxant is too small. I need a larger one. I guess that's a good thing :-)

I have the same one, only 3 frame. I ordered in the winter and when it came, I only made sure the motor worked by turning it on, it worked and I was happy; left a good review and done until extraction season - shame on me! The day of extraction, I go to put the legs on and no attachment points for the third leg😢. I had to make due and put a milk crate underneath and now I have a used but defective extractor. Yes, not a bad extractor for the money, beats a hand crank, is quiet, etc…. But buyer beware! Check out the ENTIRE machine when it arrives. Thanks for review and forum for my complaint. 😊 ❤️🐝🐝 in Northern IL

Hi, what is the size of the largest frame you can put in the 2 frame basket? My frames are 27 cm high (Norwegian frames). Do they fit? They are 40 cm large, so they should fit vertically at least.

I think those were standard Langstroth Deeps and Mediums. Deep frames are 19 inches x 1-1/16 inches x 9-1/8 inches Medium frames are 19 inches x 1-1/16 inches x 6-1/4 inches I hope this helps.

I have seen a couple of vevor hive reviews. they were not positive. It looks like this is a lot more of an investment then their hives.
@BugFarmerBees Жыл бұрын
I also reviewed their hive and it had issues. However, this is not a bad electric extractor for the money. Don't be mistaken, this is not of the same quality as a 1,000.00 Maxant or other name brand. But for a small operation, spending 200.00 on this is better than the crush and strain method which destroys your comb, or hand cranking an extractor. I am not telling you to buy it. I am just sharing my observation so that you can see it without buying one first. Thank you for stopping in to have a look and taking the time to comment. Take care.

Agreed. If you have a couple of garden hives it's worth it to not crush and strain. Outside of that a stronger model would be a good idea.

Junk. Bought the small 3 frame unit. When using, it feels like it is going to fall apart. Incredibly light frame and useless legs. The outlet is 1" above the floor of the tank. Stupid design beyond comprehension. For those of you who are wondering WhyTF did I buy it? Good Question. My main extractor needs a new motor and pully. Bought this POS for 175$ used. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY Junk
@BugFarmerBees8 ай бұрын
I agree with most everything you said but.... It is better than crush and strain. As for the inch between the honey gate and the bottom, that was pretty much the same across the industry for consumer models until Hillco hit the scene. My Maxant, which cost me 1000.00 is built the same. The extractor needs to be tipped at the end of the extraction to remove all of the honey from the tub. That said, It is well constructed and I still use mine as a tangential extractor for frames I have run vertically through my other extractor.I actually recovered an extra 3 gallons of honey last year doing this. My primary extractor has been a Maxant until this year. This season I will be using a Hillco as my primary and using the Maxant and Vevor as my tangential extractors.
